Tips for improved shooting.
Do you guys have any tips to improve my shooting or how to practice it? I find the rudder really sensitive and that the plane jerks around causing me to miss pretty badly. I fly the Bf-109 E-4 mainly.

Hi

For me, leaning to the gunsight does help (Shift + F1). Futher more, be aware of the fact that when the whole wingspan of a spitfire / Hurriance fits in the ring of your gunsight, the enemy plane is 110m away. This is a valuable information that helps me to find the moment when I can pull the trigger.

Also, don`t try to save the MG-ammo (you will hardly ever use those 1000 rounds). Fire with your MG`s at great distances to get lucky shots and add cannons on short distance.

And then again, practice, practice, practice.

Iam far from a pro but been playing flying sims awhile though and recently discovered that i was setting up my guns wrong, i use to leave range settings default or even extend it (300-500) a habit picked up from playing unlimited ammo back in the day, ive now been setting a lot lot closer like 100 to 200 and seen a massive improvement causes a lot more damage, and can do those really cool looking split sec passes and down a plane.

I've never played vanilla but these are some tips for the Team Fusion patch:

Increase the rudder sensitivity in your settings. Go to options, then controllers, and then click on the axes tab. There you can select the rudder and INCREASE the sensitivity. Sounds backwards, but that will make your rudder movements very slight and give you more control. I do that to my x and y axes as well.

Also, trim out your aircraft while attacking. the airplane should be flying itself to your target and only slight movements into your joystick should be necessary.

Try to make deflection shots at your target- Come down from above and shoot the tops of the wings, the cockpit, the engines.... damage to all these things could result in a fast kill. If you shoot at the back of an aircraft you will do a lot less damage.

Lastly, record your fights and review by how much your are missing the target. Most people's rounds fall RIGHT behind the target.

Good luck!

Get really close before you open up, and try to kill with the first couple of bursts. If you fire too soon all you do is alert your enemy and they will take evasive action if they are no already.

It helps to have a two stage trigger. Lead with machinegun rounds to range your target, then squeeze into the second stage with the fulll trigger to get cannon. Also, set your convergences between 300 and 200m.
