Warrior is definetely the easiest class to use, especially from the start, as you get a really powerful dragon and tons room for extra units. So, if you like a powerful dragon and a big army, where you lose a few units, and then replenish, Warrior is probably the way to go.
Paladin is by far the best way to use "no loss" tactics, as the special skill "Ressurrection" allows you to lose a whole stack in combat, without taking any losses. I think it also buffs the Paladin, Inquisitor and Rune Mage ressurrection/prayer abilities, so that's also helpful. Couple the Paladin with a few Order and/or Distortion spells, like Bless, Ressurrection, Haste nad Slow, and you'll have a good tactical advantage in combat.
Mage is harder to play, especially early on, as your leadership is very limited, and your spells doesn't really hit as hard early on. Also, your lower rage pool implies that your dragon will be less powerful, than with a warrior.
- Warrior can inflict highest possible damage with single unit group. With proper combination of artifacts, skills and units warrior can deal above 200K damage with one hit. Paladin or Mage can get close to this number only if they're trying to "emulate" warrior playstyle. But then again, warrior still will be superior due to the biggest leadership points of all three.
- Warrior can kill bosses in one hit/one turn. And I mean all bosses, not only White Kraken.
- Yes, warrior is definetly easiest class to play. Both at the beggining and in the end.
This goes for Hard/Impossible, because there's not much difference for the first two levels.
a high powered mage can let off 2 spells a turn and starts off with the fire ball spell.
later game it not hard to amass as high as 41 or more int, this can make yoru spell do massive amoutns of damage.
add archers and mages and rune mages and yoru cna get off so much damage i noen turn nore foes are dead fast.
they just takea whiel ot kick off.
palidains are a hybread of bothe mage and warrior.
powerful but.. not as usful as a mage. but has good substainabailtay.
on the other hand warroirs are simple they have the lest effort to get roling but lack the punch in spell.
as you can tell, i love magin in the game.
so for me 2 or 3 archer or ranged units with 2 HtoH make fora power ful team.
now i also like to play the game in a casula plue enviroment.
so i use the console to get my char max out fast and have extra leader ship or a select few equipment.
so when i'm not playign for the chlange the mage jsut rock and ticks all my boxes.
now the aded advantage is the mage wares the pest and look kinda nice.
but that aside.
warroir get access to ther abialty fast.
palidins have the problem of not beignable ot do to much but really excail after abotu 10 levels.
while a mage need 20 or so levels to really kick out the pain.
out of the 3 specals the higher magic is the most powerful.
so much so i cant even rember what the warroirs specail is.
whiel resuraction is nice, but.... for me with higher magic i dont loss the fighters i nthe first palce so rserctign them when they fall is nto an issue.
