Scroll Limits
How does this work? I chose the Paladin class in my game. I tried to buy a Lightning scroll (Order Magic) but it is not allow: "There is no space in your spell book." Is this restriction applied to the total number of scrolls in my Spell book, or the number of types of scrolls?

I invested runes to attain the Wisdom skill to level 3 (raising Mana +18 and Scroll +9). In the Order Magic portion of the Spell book, I have 5 different spells and 6 different scrolls, meaning I have one spare slot on this page. Yet, I cannot purchase an additional Order Magic spell. Please clarify. Thanks in advance.

It's the total number of scrolls (including Global ones). I wouldn't spend runes for Wisdom just for the sake of scrolls. If you have many of the same type scrolls you can sell some at any castle (right click on a scroll iirc, if you click on them NOT in a castle you just scrap them. Also, if it's still not enough space, there are items that when equiping will significantly increase the limit (6-10 or so), you can find them in stores and through some quests. I just carry one of those with me just in case. One of them looks like a book, the other one is a Raven than you get for a quest around mid-game, and also there is a raven skull item that you can buy in later locations.

I think OP doesn't it means SCROLLS and not SPELLS, so let me clarify. SPELLS are the things you've already learned, that you can cast in battle using mana. SCROLLS are the items you pick up that you can use in battle by clicking on the item. There's a limit to how many you can hold, however, this only applies to buying them...if you find them as drops it still lets you carry them even if you're at your limit. You're likely WAY above your limit and don't realize it because you picked up so many as drops and never sell them.

What I do is sell to castles until I have room for 1 more scroll right before I plan to buy a scroll to learn as a spell, and then buy all the scrolls I want one at a time and learn them before continuing on my journey and inevitably finding more. I hardly ever buy scrolls to use in battle, but will use good ones I find in clutch situations when needed. (The only time I buy scrolls to use in battle is very early in the game before I have learned Dispel or Heal. I always make sure I have at least one of each on hand.)

Thank //tiamats4esgares// for your feedback. In my post I mean scrolls and not spells. My issue is that I cannot buy the Lightning SCROLL which means I cannot use it or convert it to a spell. Before the post, I already knew I had to selloff some scrolls. I really did not want to sell them off in large quantity because I can always use scrolls in the event that I ran out of mana during combat. From King's Bounty Warrior of the North, the Lightning spell is very, *very* powerful. Thus, I had to know how many scroll to sell off and in order to buy this scroll and convert it to a spell.

In epilogue, the Lightning spell is powerful, but not very, very powerful.

There are some items and some Item Sets that let you increase your scroll inventory. They are worth keeping in your Inventory just for a quick equip if you want to buy one.

Most of the scrolls you can probably just sell. I play a Mage, so they aren't as important as for a fighter. Also, at higher levels, you will cast a more powerful version than the scroll. The scroll is always on Basic level.

Spells get you some achievements too, so definitely write those down in your book and cast them! :)

Scrolls are good to cast after you run out of mana in long hard fights. I use them sometimes too, even as a mage. But still, most aren't worth keeping. There's a lot of bad spells...
