I honestly don’t mind rhythm games in general. I am NOT good at them, but I can usually get by with a little practice. They’re fun enough, usually. But disco is such a mess sheesh. Like why does Kiryu glow with heat energy in the same color as the A button? I’ve had multiple instances and combos ruined because he flashed with the heat energy and it 100% obscured the box for that current step. Just crazy.
I thankfully managed to complete the disco things I had to do, and am all done with that portion. Here’s hoping I don’t run into those frustrations in the future games. I loved every second of this game EXCEPT disco, and do plan to 100% the series. It’s a phenomenal game but man, the disco really gets under my skin.
I fully gave on on trying to beat disco king. Just wasn't worth the hassle. That 10% was gladly handed over to not have to disco battle him.
Maybe it was because I did Kiryu's disco side story first, which I believe is harder than Majima's, but getting the disco queen wasn't bad. I actually first-tried all 3 fights, which was VERY surprising to me. I'm going to assume the fact that I had spent literally 4 hours on Kiryu's storyline playing that that practice is what made the difference. If I had done Majima's first, I probably would've ran into a lot more trouble.
I can't even say I really picked up any tips or tricks. Best I had was just really paying attention (I know you said this can be tough for you at times due to diabetes) and pressing the button when the outline kind of got brighter? I don't know how to describe it, but it would change appearance just a little bit, and that seemed to do me well in completing this.
Pocket circuit was an awesome time! I think I used a guide for the final two battles, but otherwise was able to do that one by myself. I really loved the trial and error because you could notice the changes you made. Those last 2 battles were tough though, and I'm glad there are guides for them!
This wasn't my experience. I didn't really even try to beat the disco king turf battle, but for Kazuma's final dance substory, I didn't do anything with extra spaces. I went as few as possible to the next beat so I had maximum time to focus on hitting it and creating a combo. This was how I won all mine. I'm sure extra steps help make it easier, though.
