you just need to get a hand that you can use to ron or tsumo, without going into detail i.e the full rules theres no other easy explainlikeim5 way to showcase this, if you are planning on 100%ing this game i would turn back right now, getting a full straight took me 6 hours straight

The basic rules are actually really simple. It only looks complicated because there are a buttload of possible yaku. But as long as you can complete one of them, you win.

Basically, you just have to be the first to complete a valid hand. On every turn, you draw a tile and discard a tile. If on opponent discards one you can use, you can steal it. That's the short of it.

Most hands consist of three groups of three and a pair. A group of three can either be a straight or three of a kind. Note that in either case, they have to have the same suit (or be the same tile).

Then you have to get one yaku, which is just a fancy way of saying meet a certain criteria. The easiest one is all simples. All you have to do for that one is discard all the winds, dragons, 1s and 9s. Honestly, this is the easiest way to play. Just get rid of all those tiles asap and then try to get your four sets of three and a pair.

THIS IS THE KINDA ANSWER IVE BEEN LOOKING FOR, but question,,? What if I don’t have the tiles in my discarded to make a set of three,,? I got a set of three of circles but I don’t have tiles to make another set of anything, can I put in like filler tiles in between sets?
It isn't a game of skill or really knowledge at the end of the day assuming all players know how to play. Its a game of pure chance.

I've seen some decent 'Mahjong Souls' players claim they have a 50% win rate, but the average win rate seems to be ~20%. I'd also assume just like any game that tracks ranking, players exit out of the game to prevent their record from being tarnished by a loss.

The more you know how to play the version of Mahjong the Yakuza games use, the more you realize it is pure rng and 1 of the 3 AI will call richi on turn 1-3. Its a dumb game. That's why the 'Lucky Tile' exists in the other games.

lucky tile?
Its in the Kiwami games, not zero unfortunately. It gives you a winning hand on turn 1.

I mean, at the end of the day, it's a gambling game, so yeah, there's a lot of chance involved. But you can also help your chances a lot by thinking about things like, if I have a 3, a 4 and a 6, and I want to discard one of them, the 6 is the one to choose because you can complete a meld with a 2 or a 5 instead of just a 5. Lots of stuff like that that you figure out if you play enough. I've written a number of posts of it here and the other Yakuza boards, haha.

my answer here wasnt answered,,,
HOW DO I GET ANY OF THE RONS OR TSUMOS OR RICHI STUFF HOW DO I WIN?????
Unfortunately for you if you want to complete mahjong list you have to learn various winning hands and rules. you won't find satisfying answer here. because mahjong is complex game. even the simplest explanation will took 7-8 paraghraps which i don't think others here will bother to write. go do some google search or youtube video that explain the rule. you'll have better understanding that reading wall of text

https://gamefaqs.gamespot.com/ps4/816306-yakuza-0/faqs/74451/mahjong
This is the best yakuza guide on internet. take your time to read the guide. it has lot of text though

and i hope you get used to mahjong because every single RGG games have one. This game mahjong completion is actually quite easier compared to Yakuza 3 where you have to score 50k points in one sitting or Judgement where you have to complete various winning hands
