As for the play order, play Yakuza 0-6. Then play Yakuza: Like a Dragon (aka Yakuza 7), Like a Dragon Gaiden: The Man Who Erased His Name, and Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth. If you are insterested in playing Like a Dragon: Ishin!, it would likely be more enjoyable to play it last or towards the end of playing through the games as they indirectly reference many of the major characters that appear throughout the series (takes place in the Edo period, but characters are basically the same with different roles).
If you are interested in getting invested in the entire series, then you should also consider playing Judgment and Lost Judgment. While the characters that appear in these games are new, the stories take place in the same world and make references to events from the main games.
In summary, I suggest the games in the following order:
- Yakuza 0
- Yakuza Kiwami
- Yakuza Kiwami 2
- Yakuza 3
- Yakuza 4
- Yakuza 5
- Yakuza 6
- Judgement
- Yakuza: Like a Dragon
- Like a Dragon: Gaiden
- Lost Judgement
- Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth
Also in case you didn't see already, the newest (likely spinoff) game for the series has just been announced and looks amazing. It's called Like a Dragon: Pirate Yakuza in Hawaii and has a steam page up already if you want to look it up.
> I have learned how to play the mini-games
I tried to tackle them a bit at a time so I didn't have to deal with a bunch at once at the end. Worse ones for me was Batting since it took a long time to figure out they work. Almost every pitch has its own timing to learn. Out Run is probably the other tough one...you just have to work on it to get a good run.
For the dance battles, always pick the Easy pattern. Less chances for you to screw up.
