a guide for how to play each character + random question ???
i seriously need some information about this i have no clues what i should be doing in each style for both character
right now here what i do so i gonna need some suggestion im not gonna mention the hidden style you have to grind because those are even more confusing
Kiryu
Brawler right now this pretty much the only style i use for combat the most
rush i have never try to do combat knowing the stagger for this is way to low and i mostly use it for dodging and some time with the heat action if i near a wall
Beast decent damage but with that speed im gonna die half of the time i know you suppose to be defensive when using this style
Majima
Thug same as Kiryu Brawler with dodging
Breaker the damage feel off but then again i never use it outside of trying to get heat fast and do the friendly fire heat action
slugger i only use to do 3 light + heavy spam

Brawler: is a solid all rounder and plays closer to Kiryu's legendary style just rougher. The counter skill is solid but the best abilities are passives when drunk.

Rush while better for one on ones, with abilities learned from the trainer you can gain massive heat from dodging along dodging while being hit.

Beast: Can clear rooms of enemies with some heat moves or honestly having any object hit like a freight train. While the lack of speed sucks it makes up for raw power also its the least defensive style.

Thug: honestly it's okay, breaker and slugger can solo the entire game far easier

Breaker:Just busted even without using most of its move set. It can easily clear groups and most bosses with ease.

Slugger:Honestly besides that combo and the guard break heat move I couldn't tell you what else it could be used for besides blocking enemies with weapons.

Do the master training, the styles get really busted when you complete them. With Kiryu i used Brawler and Rush the most, Beast is good for that heat action you do when you grab a enemy and there's more enemies surrounding you, Kiryu flails the guy around damaging everyone in the process. With Majima is kinda the same, the ones i used the most were Thug and Breaker, Breaker gets really busted and Thug is a good "all-rounder" like Kiryu with the "yellow style", Majima's Slugger is good for the heat actions.
Another thing i will say: don't bother with Kiryu's 4th hidden style because by the time you get it, you probably already invested in Brawler so much it outshines the hidden style in every single way except the counter which imo, is the only good thing on it. With Majima is completely the opposite though, his 4th style is extremely busted even you don't upgrade it that much.

Rush is the fastest, but produce less damage. I recommend to use it against weaker opponents (like street thugs). When using Rush, use A to dodge enemy attack instead of blocking.

Brawler is the middle balanced style. I personally use it on 1-on-1 against boss (especially Kuze), or if the opponent has high health.

Beast is the strongest but slowest. It is arguably the most effective style on massive storyline fight. A good trick is to use Rush to build heat meter, change to beast to perform high damage heat action, change back to Rush and repeat. I do not recommend using Beast on 1-on-1 (except if you have a lot of weapons around) as it is painfully slow.

Thug, treat it like Brawler.

Slugger, this is the stronger version of Thug but with one weakness. You should not use it near walls as Majima would stumble upon hitting walls.
Outside of narrow alley (like in front of Club Sunshine), Slugger should outperform Thug in most cases.

Breaker, this is for handling groups. As it implements area damage, you may want to use it to protect Makoto. Don't use Breaker on 1-on-1 against bosses.

Special tip:
For Mr. Shakedown, you need to prioritize speed to dodge him, attack and quickly evade. For that reason, I suggest Rush as Kiryu and Thug as Majima. If you have heat mode, use Slugger's heat action for quicker damage.

These people have got the general idea to listen to them but this game gets really nutty when you switch styles in combat. Look at some videos called "Yakuza 0 no damage".
weird how did people stun lock boss with rush tho ?

I don't think you can do it in Y0, it's only possible in Yakuza Kiwami as far as i know but it goes like this: 5-7 (i can't remember the right amount) attacks in rapid succession stun enemies, after doing this, you need to perform a trick called "weave cancel" (check on youtube to see how it's done), the trick will cancel the animation and Kiryu will go towards the target at the same time. After getting the hang of it it's just a matter of repeating till the enemy dies.

He's spamming light attack and dodging/weaving to cancel the animation. I never tried it in Y0 but i guess you need a maxed out Rush style plus 3rd gear for maximum speed.
also a weird question if i beat the game on legend with the new save then can i use the old save for legend ng+ or i have to use the one i beat with legend only

Yea of course, the only exception of ng+ is that any completion below legendary can’t be used for a legendary playthrough.

I'm going on someone else's info here but I don't believe it's possible to ever do a legend ng+, even off a legend clear data.
i forgot to ask it is just me or kiryu counter move is way easier to do then majima in every way because i barely able to pull any of them off even on basic enemy which make me wonder what is the time frame for those counter move
