could they make another prequel? yakuza 00?
in respect to the lore, could the storywriters focus on the origins of how kiryu and majima were inducted into their families?

i just recently got into the series because of yakuza 0. afterwards, i played kiwami and kiwami 2, but something about these games just doesn't click with me in regards to the story. after playing yakuza 0, the story feels so cheap and drawn out in these games that follow after 0. they lack the intensity 0 had.

0 is pretty clear about how Kiryu joined the yakuza. While it was never laid out exactly how Majima became involved from a civillian, his whole story in 0 is built upon his story in 4. While 0 does take place before all the other games, it was designed to be fully enjoyed as a prequel--after playing 1 - 5. And regarding Kiwami 1 and 2, they're really just modernized versions of the original games. Kiwami in particular had a few added cutscenes of Nishiki to bridge the transition from 0 to the (updated) story, but it makes sense it doesn't bring as much to the table since the whole series wasn't planned to this current level when the original game was made.

As far as making another prequel, I highly doubt Sega will go in that direction, at least in terms of dwelling with Kiryu's story. Considering the newest game in the series, it seems they want to move the focus to newer characters to keep the franchise fresh. I can possibly see them making a Majima spin-off as fan service due to his popularity, and by the off chance they do consider another prequel, it will probably feature other characters like Ryuji or Akiyama. Another idea I think would be cool is a game featuring Daigo with certain game mechanics highlighting his role as the Tojo head (like you can order guys to do stuff).

what about the early 1990's when kiryu was tortured by the chinese gang? you dont think the possibility of that story will be expanded on?

Kiryu joins the yakuza, inspired by Shintaro Kazama, his foster father. Kazama, in first, was very displeased by his decision and, actually, beat him and Nishikiyama, trying to discouraged them.
But, later, Shintaro introduce them to Dojima Family and they became a part of it.
For Majima, well, not much. We know that he was a respected within Shimano family. All part about Saejima and Ueno Seiwa hit is part of Yakuza 4 plot, so i won't explain it here. Only i can say, what he lured by Kazuo Shibata out and threatened to not join Saejima in this job, revealing that it was a set-up from the start. Majima was very angry about it and clearly told that he gonna warn Saejima. But Shibata called his reinforcements and Majima failed to take them out. Yakuza's tied him with the chain and Shibata took Majima's eye out. Later, Majima confronted by Shimano himself about not following orders and throw him into Pit, where Futoshi tortured him one year.
After that, Shimano, probably amazed by Majima's toughness, set him free, but expelled him from the family and sent him to Osaka to the hands of Tsukasa Sagawa.
There Majima met his wife (but shortly after that, they divorced) and his friend (later a keyfigure of Yakuza 5, and in Y0 they won't contact each other).
Some time later, he took Sagawa's offer to became Cabarets manager in order to get in the Tojo clan again.

not likely. IMO if I was Sega and wanted to explore that portion of the story, I would probably do it from the perspective of Kazama and not Kiryu. But the thing is Kazama was never a very popular character. MAYBE you could do it from Kashiwagi's perspective

There won't be more prequels about Kiryu and Majima, if you don't like the rest of the series - drop it. Zero is great but definetly not the best game in the series

The best is Yakuza 5. Mine opinion.

But a game to explore Kazama could make him more of an interesting character, and you could do it like they did with 0, and do both Kashiwagi and Kazama as duel story.

I'm part way through Yakuza 0 now, and from what Yamanoi says about Kazama he could be a fantastic protagonist. He was quite similar to Kiryu in his youth, but clearly managed to inspire a massive amount of respect and adoration from many. I'd love to see his rise through the ranks, how his involvement with the orphanage, the doctor in Kamurocho etc. began, and just how he managed to foresee what was going to happen in Yakuza 0 so he could make all the arrangements he did.
