Yakuza 0 is about 100 times better than GTAV
Its really unfair that a trash game like GTAV which is a poor mans Yakuza 0 is the best selling game of all time while Y0 isnt even close to as popular. A yakuza 0 remake on next gen consoles with english dub would sell alot i think.

True... but i dont look at sales or profits i look at which one is sitting at a high percentage of positive reviews and well... gtav seems to be going further down the depths

I dont look at it either, what i mean is that its unfair that the devs dont get the recognition sales wise compared to rockstar when they have actually made a game that is 100 times better than GTAV.

i think you are underestimating the popularity of the RGG series however, not to mention the 2 games are very different one being online and another being purely SP

Also the series is very big in Japan. The main issue in the west was making enough to warrant localization. An issue past games had until 0 was released. That said rockstar games look cool but are boring to play for me at least.

Yeah, yakuza is literally 100 times better than gta5, everything from graphics, gameplay, story, variety. Imagine a new yakuza game with free combat made for next gen and pc only, it would be amazing.

I smell fanboy.

The success of GTAV had a lot to do with its monetization. Multiplayer is just infinite free money, and GTAV got exaggerated "copies sold" numbers by making it more economical to buy multiple copies of the game for the included in-game currency than to buy the in-game currency directly.

Personally, I'd prefer the game not make #1 spots on lists if those are the kinds of things you have to do to get there.

But as for "100 times better", there's no reason we can't have two good open world games.

Yeah but unfortunatly only of the two is good, gta 5 has HORRIBLE controls and a boring story and not much to do outside of the story in single player, y0 is way better in every way.

It's just your opinion and everyone likes different games. I played both games and I like both of them, and all of them have cons and pros.

Odd measurement, with some things being debatable or untrue.

That's why I called him fanboy.

I really don't see any parallel between the two games aside from the gangster theme and focus on humor. I used to avoid the Yakuza series because it was pitched to me as "Japanese GTA" but it really is nothing like that.

Its not totally different at all, its basically the same type of game but set in japan, only yakuza has 100 times better story, content, variety and gameplay.

One is a fully open world sandbox third person shooter and the other is a hub-based beat 'em up with light RPG elements. And they don't even have one single gameplay element in common. Is it the gangster theme that makes them the same type of game for you?
