Gears stuck in equipment inventory / item box - possible solution.

Hi.

I experienced an issue where my inventory bugged and somehow I had gears/race car parts stuck in my equipment slots. To make matters worse, I then transferred these to the item box until it filled up and they got stuck there too. These particular items could not be discarded and so were stuck in my inventory, limiting the number of slots I could use and even filling up my box.

In case anyone encounter this - I used the following method to get rid of the items:

Re-organize your inventory so that you can easily memorize which slots are occupied by the unwanted gear/car parts/ items you cannot discard.

The whole situation appears to be related to the inventory / save complete bug - so try saving your game as many times as you need to until you do not get the "Save Complete" message. In my case, not getting the "save complete" meant that my inventory would bug.

Now, when I opened my inventory after this, it would bug the entire inventory/equipment including what used to be the car parts. While your inventory is bugged, discard the items corresponding to the slots occupied by the gears/car parts before the bug.

Once you re-save and fix the inventory again, then hopefully the unwanted parts are gone (at least in my case it worked).

You can also apply this same technique to get rid of these items from the item box. Just remember which slot in the item box they were originally in and transfer them to the inventory to discard once you have bugged your inventory. (In my case, the gear parts all corresponded to particular pieces of armor).

just throwing this out there because it took me several days to figure out how to get rid of this.

Extremely common bug. Thousands of threads on it. The usual fix is as you mentioned. I guessa another pointer is to constantly manual save

i had seen loads of threads on it, but i never found an actual solution to my specific problem.

this is just in case someone encounters exactly this same issue and can't just get rid of the bugged item by 1 save.

It’s always best to have 2 saves bc u could be encountering bugs like this

Had the same issue on Kiwami 1, and this method worked in that game too, only problem, game might crash if u try to do it too fast it seems, lol
