Combat system sucks really hard.

Well you are only on a few hours and havent upgraded all your abilities yet by purchasing them, of course the combat is going to be hard and annoying

It's not hard, it's chaotic and it doesn't have any kind of depth. Just pounding buttons.

yakuza 0 combat is just press grab, throw, and do brawler combo, the bots in there are quite easy to beat except the bosses there. However on kiwami, that is a different story, most enemies tends to block and u have to turn the table to defeat them, by switching styles most of the time, and use grab

At least it's not hard. You can cheese most battles easily. And I think it's good because it's mainly a story focused game.

You should play it on the easy difficulty then. It makes almost everything a joke and you can sit back and enjoy the story and minigames.

Idk, I played for almost 100 hours in this game on Hard without switching to Easy or Normal at all and I really like the battle system. There are lots of different attacks and combos, four battle styles per character with different movesets, specia features and even some limitations (for example, you can't use weapons with Rush and Breaker style), but those limitations offer you some bonuses on the other hand. There are lots of weapons ( I still haven't seen all of them after 100 hours). There are "armor" and "accessories" that'll give you buffs, and some buffs work when your character is drunk, What else could beat'em up need?

What it does it cranks up the AI aggressiveness to 11, making every enemy attack you all at once nonstop.

Yes, it's quite bad to be honest and it doesn't get any better later in the game. Not smooth at all and very tedious. Enemies blocking and interrupting your combos all the time but you barely can interrupt theirs.

it has plenty depth, despite not requiring any skill other than button mashing to win. even so, it's still fun ;))
