There are basically 3 kinds of custscene
- Big scene done in CGI style that has detailed movement and facial expression, you can pause these scenes if needed. Might take the immersion out though.
- In-engine cutscenes with textbox where the character move using programmed motion, there are both voiced and unvoiced variation for this scene. This scene requires you to press a button to proceed to the next text, so you can take your time to read as long as you want.
- Scenes styled as if it were just stills, it's voiced and have detailed character expression but the character mouth doesn't move. No "moving camera" as well during these scenes. This last one is very rare and only pop up around 5 times maybe.
Wit the exception of the text box scene they rarely have long lines to read through, and each dialogue and the subtitles is spaced quite nicely for clear reading.
Just my personal opinion though.
Thanks a lot, this is very useful information. I think I'll keep what you said in mind and watch a video or two to see if it'd be doable.
Yes yes I can see it now over on the info box in the right hand side where it has languages - But In all honesty as an English speaker I have to confess that I have *never* looked at that thing in my life, and pretty much considered its existence simply being there for the benefit of every other region on steam.
(It made me immediately go and doublecheck that I can have english Voice on Valkyria Chronicles 4, which thankfully is present)
I too only learnt about the Japanese audio on this from a topic here sometime after I had found myself interested and pre-ordered, to much surprise and eyebrow raising.
Never played a foreign language game like this before, will be quite the experience.
-_- .... just decided to go take a listen again when I saw this was coming and man my ears are tainted.
