Question about the Empty Lot

Hi everyone. I am at chapter 13 right now but i dont get one thing... I think I missed it, because my english is not perfect. Why is the empty lot so important for the dojima family? I mean... its a tiny piece of lot... why do they all want it... ?

Its the last part of the city not yet owned by one of the groups. Whoever gets it at this point has an advantage. Its also the last thing in the way of a reconstruction project starting.

Ok I see. So the land is to small to build something. But when they reconstruct the area it will turn the tide. :-)

Essentially it is the only place in Kamurocho currently that is empty. An empty plot of land is pretty much very valuable in a thriving district like Kamurocho and people were willing to pay a massive amount of money to whoever had the rights to the land.

The Dojima family is after the plot of land because the Tojo clan currently has a temporary chairman and has yet to choose a permanent successor for the role. If the Dojima family were able to get the property rights to the land selling it would net them a huge fortune, and benefit the Tojo clan as a whole. This would also put Dojima at a very good position to becoming the next chairman of the clan.

yakuza franchise mainly focuses around kazuma kiryu, and whilst you can play as multiple protags in later games esp 5, it still focuses on him and his arc finalised in 6

IIRC it is the last piece of property needed to build the Millenium Tower which appears in subsequent entries in the series. It is a huge project and a monumental money-making coup for any faction that could pull it off. It cemented the Tojo Clan's domination of Tokyo for decades.
