Micro-stuttering issues
I bought the game 2 days ago and just played this today after downloading, I've been experiencing micro-stutters even at cutscenes, that also include the audio being choppy. I've looked up solutions to it and applied some, so far here are the solutions I've tried:
  • Changing Priority to High (Not much of an impact)
  • Changing Priority to Low (some have mentioned this worked, just made performance worse)
  • Setting down maxfps parameter in graphics.ini (Changing it to 60 maxfps caused some issues)
  • Changing audio_mode (Fixed the weird choppy audio when micro-stuttering)
  • Changing PhysX selection from auto-select to GPU (Improved the stability somewhat)
  • Using BES (Updated, 6/28/2021, no such impact)

Solutions I haven't tried yet:
  • Turning low-latency mode on in NVIDIA Control Panel

My PC is relatively low-end; here are specs:
  • AMD A6 6400K APU
  • GTX 680 2GB
  • 4GB (DDR3) RAM
  • Windows 10 LTSC

Is there a better way to optimize the game on a low-end rig like this?

Hm i played on low specs too but didnt encounter hardly any stuttering (940mx 2gb, not sure how that compares to yours) i assume youre playing 720p lowest settings?

Yeah, I'm running the game on lowest 720p borderless (since fullscreen breaks my custom resolution for my monitor).

what does the fps drop to when it happens? it could be overheating of hardware
Win 10. Do you have "Game Mode" enabled? Disabling it worked for me when I played the game on an older rig years ago.

I don't have Game Mode enabled either, I tried turning on and off to see of it changes something, but nothing really happened.

The FPS Drops to ~40 for the most part, it isn't severe yet I don't understand why that happens. My PC doesn't overheat either, and the game utilizes my CPU a little (I'd say it reaches 80% utilization), while memory goes to 70% utilization. I'll try using BES to see if it changes something.
Small update:
- BES didn't fix the stuttering issue, it's the same that it is.
- Changing priority to Realtime froze my PC.
- Task Manager states that Yakuza 0 doesn't utilize my CPU (reaches to 0.4%), but primarily my Memory, Memory utilization is pretty low however (300-400MB).

I'll try running the game without BES + Realtime priority to see if something happens.
Issue resolved, I enabled VSync and the game ran stable.
