Want to play but don't like fighting games
I love the style and humor the game gives off and I've seen plenty of gameplay etc, but I feel like I'm not going to enjoy it because I just don't care for the fighting aspect. To me it's just not my genre and I would literally prefer to have somebody play that part of the game for me while I do the running around and minigames.

Should I just watch a let's play or something? I really don't want to deal with the annoying fights and button combo memorizing and everything else that comes with it.

There are no button combos, the fighting is very easy just make sure you pick a fighting style that best suits the situation and roll with it, you can play the game on easy too if you please, i was in a similar boat where i had 0 fighting gameplay focused games (apart from sleeping dogs which i cant even run anyways) but after getting to know the mechanics its actually pretty easy, this coming from someone who isnt into typical beat em ups (tekken, MK11 etc) so i would say get the game, play on easy and have fun

Play it on easy. Don't become one of those fools that watch games. That's the height of sadness.

Yakuza games are not "fighting" games, they are "beat-em-up" games

Here you go...hope you have 30+ hours of spare time. The movie below looks like it has all main story quests, side missions as well as some running around town. If you were to watch just a cutscenes only of the main story you're still looking at a 10-13 hour movie.

You could just experience it for yourself and set combat difficulty to the easiest setting and button mash your way through fights. Part of the fun in these games imo is experiencing all the stuff for yourself. Going to the arcade to play games, going to play cards, walking around town for a bit, going to a restaurant to eat, running into a crazy person and doing a side quest for them etc. Watching someone else do that through a lets play is like asking one of your sober friends to carry your drunk a** through town so that you can watch them have fun.

I'm not a fan of fighting games either and I'm loving this right now. You mainly use two buttons, one you spam, and the other you hit while spamming the other to "complete the combo". You can occasionally hit a third button at times to grab if you want to, but not really necessary. You also have the buttons to swap your fighting styles. This is more akin to a VERY watered down Devil May Cry combat system.

Hmm, good to know, I just wanna be able to enjoy it without being forced into tedious boss fights where I have to chain combos or some bs

You don't have to chain combos (this game has very easy combos though, but it is nothing like Street Fighter or Mortal Combat), this game is more like a brawler (Final Fight, Streets of Rage) type of a game concerning the combat. The dev's goal with the Yakuza series was to create a game that is easy to pick up and they succeeded. But depending on your definition of "tedious" some boss fights can be tedious in this game. Especially at the beginning. But later on you are going to have a lot of weapons (swords, pistols, etc.) that can kill enemies in no time.
