heat abilities do not trigger consistently in this game and it's pissing me off
want to do basic heat attack with slugger style? do bad you do heavy attack and get KO'd because game don't care if you have prompt you do heavy attack.

just about every death I've had in this game can be attributed to the fact that the heat ability prompts are not showing up when they should be and then when they do they don't actually trigger and I wind up doing the wrong attack, and with the way this game's combat works there's an horrendous delay afterwords before you can move or dodge, which results in me being forced to take a hit that winds up killing me. This happens so frequently there's times where I literally have to just shut this ♥♥♥♥ off with Alt F4 and walk away. Kiwami never did this. I can honestly say I've enjoyed 0 much less than Kiwami, it's damn right frustrating how ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ most of the deaths are due to these idiotic mechanics. Why is there a 1 and a half second delay from the point of some attacks ending before you can move or dodge again? This is just dumb.

I've wasted an ungodly amount of tauriner and staminan due to this ridiculous bug.
>attempts to use heat ability
>doesn't trigger
>does a heavy attack instead
>gets knocked down because I can't dodge or move
>gets stomped immediately after and KO'd

this shouldn't be happening. how can you expect me to enjoy a fighting game when the prompts and controls are this unresponsive?

Heat abilities do trigger consistently, but some have a very small window in which you can use them. Some heat actions can only be used when you are a certain distance away from an enemy AND when that enemy is not using any attack moves - I think the slugger heat action where you knock the enemy down and hit them in the face with the bat follows this pattern.

that's not how it is in kiwami and that's rather asinine.

It only applies for a few heat actions, but yes, I agree it's really annoying until you get accustomed to the timing.

well it's making the 3 health bar shakedown impossible to beat and I've tried every fighting style and nothing is doing sufficient damage and there's no tricky moves or anything I can do to cheese the boss so it's literally impossible now.

For shakedown as Majima I usually just charge up heat by using thug style light attacks and dodging. Then, after he throws a big punch or charges, you can switch to slugger and it will let you smash him with the bat as he is recovering. You could also just shoot him with a zap gun or slime gun from dragon and tiger.

smack him on the ground as Slugger gives u less Heat, so probably Thug is the best to use since it does give u alot of heat if u hit him

Majima nor Kiryu really have any effective heat abilities that can be used against larger opponents in a 1v1 which makes Mr. Shakedown a sort of bland enemy to fight since you have to just run around and let him charge and then as he goes past you, you run behind him and get a few hits in. Not a lot breaks up the monotony of the fight.

what about the Assense of Crushing: Elbow, and Assense of Crushing: Wall? those are good against Shakedown
plus, u can just dodge their attack and taunt to raise up heat too, if u have those upgrades

I mean more specifically in the early and mid game. Late game I'm sure you have something decent.
