He is likeable in literally every Yakuza game, both canon and non-canon. There is a good reason why he is fan favorite for years.
And his personality from 0 is similar to his older self from Y4 and 5.
And let's be honest, the transition from a do-gooder that avoids fighting people even if it makes him look bad and saves women in distress to a sadistic yakuza that threatens civilians with bats really makes no sense no matter what way you look at.
