You also have management mini-games that bring loads of "XP", so you don't just get "XP" through combat.
A lot of the side quests are just talking and making choices with combat at the end. So it's not really an action adventure and much closer to an RPG
So I'd guess you will not enjoy this game if you think RPGs are too complicated or just don't enjoy them anyway.
RPG is too wide a classification now and doesn't really mean anything anymore.

Not a RPG in old school traditional sense, cant honestly tell the difference between modern A(ction)RPG and action adventure perhaps a little bit more to read but not much. Sleeping Dogs had 2 errors, obvious who the criminal boss is and fights, dont attack but counter attack instead but if you liked it, then you will like this.
