IJKL for karaoke? why?

What is the rason behind using IJKL for karaoke insted of WASD?

Also I know I shoudln't be asking this here, but what the hell, when's the patch comming back out? I cant make it from the first save point to the second without the game freezing up.

I think they share their overall input scheme with the Disco minigame where you need WASD to move your cursor around.

Because IJKL are the same keys for camera controls.
If they have to make you use the Dodge, Light Attack, Heavy Attack and Grab keys which corresponds to the controller's ABXY layout, it'll be a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ mess.

1. Your beloved PC Master Race encourages people to use any kind of controller that they liked because one of the beauty of PC Gaming is having freedom of choices.
2. This game was designed to be used for a controller (obviously, it was a PS exclusive) and because of that, I find it more easier to play with a controller than with the keyboard and mouse.

Some games, typically First-Person Shooters, works better with a mouse and keyboard.
Some games like Yakuza 0 works better with a controller.

I don't have any problem playing yakuza 0 using KB/M. My only problem is how come i can't using shift button while playing disco?

So we have our rights to use KB/M, are we not? As it's a control option which most of the people have by default. While gamepads, wheels and other alternatives allow for customization, they are something you buy separately.
So it's annoys me then someone laugh at people for using or wanting to use default controller for PC. It's an option all of us have, so let us use it!

Ah, where is a misunderstanding. Yakuza 0 is fine, I beat entire game using a keyboard. Only time I had to use a gamepad is when Karaoke started to use mouse buttons. Disco mini-game was actually easier on KB. .

I'm not the op, but I did it because that's my controller input of choice. Played the entire game with it at the highest difficulty and had no trouble whatsoever, except a bit of discomfort at first with the disco, because I had to do 3 things at the same time and wasn't mentally prepared for it. I don't see the big problem with keyboard inputs tbh.

The game straight up says "Real Yakuza use a controller"

It was made specifically with a controller in mind, so there will be hiccups with KB/M.

PC is all about being able to get away from Defaults, and it's at it's core a console game.

F* controllers. I've been a PC gamer for longer than I was ever a console gamer (and that was in the beginning). I've modified the graphic files and the input.ini and now I'm a karaoke pro. Stupid Sega. jkli was a terrible decision, and even worse not letting players modify those settings WITHIN the keybind screen.

IJKL assumes everyone knows how to use a keyboard correctly (which a lot of people don't). IJKL is the equivalent of WASD, just on the right side of the keyboard. I had no issues playing the mini-games using the default M&K set up.

in the current beta patch they changed it so you dont use IJKL but instead arrow keys
