Agreed Ogita is the hardest because the song choice is quite hard (miracle Johnson song) but in the end it's kinda RNG you'll get him make mistakes but the true key is the combo. try pull as many combo number while number of steps certainly can help but more combo the better. I don't remember my last time play vs ogita, but beating Miss Isobe is piece of cake, just the same tactic raking up combo. Disco queen my best score so far 8720 lol
- It has been mentioned, but ALWAYS go for the hard difficulty setting. It's counter-intuitive, but will actually improve your chances. The AI will mess up significantly more often and steps will matter less.
- Don't focus on doing a ridiculous amount of steps. You're very likely to screw up that way. I've always aimed for 1 step a beat, since it'll make timing WAY easier and combos are just as valuable as steps (and that has always been enough for me, even with minor screw-ups).
- Don't panic when the AI gets way ahead of you at the start. I've found that to be practically unavoidable. You should be able to gain a lot of momentum through combos.
- If you're not that good at the minigame and you know it, don't spam your Fever, but time it so that you can use it at the part(s) you are having trouble with. You're much better off with your combo intact. Don't make the game any more difficult for yourself than it needs to be.
Good luck, try to enjoy yourself and don't lose hope, you got this :)

To use :
1/ install last Python version from https://www.python.org/
2/ copy/paste py script and timestamp file below with notepad or equivalent and save in same directory.
3/ edit py file line 6 "file = "ogita_challenge.txt"" with the name of the timestamp file.
4/ run Yakuza 0 and speak to Ogita. Select Hard difficulty and wait. (IMPORTANT: don't press "E" when Kiryu says "Yeah!")
5/ Alt+Tab and run the script, you have 2 seconds to switch back to the game window (you can edit line 73 if you need more time).
6/ enjoy Kiryu's moves

This is not 100% accurate due to loading sometimes taking a few more frames. But it worked fine for me with a constant 60fps (it might be an issue if not).
Here's the video of Ogita getting totally REKT (17,466pts) !

It should work with other songs, provided you create the appropriate file. I recorded the song with OBS and advanced frame by frame to write the correct time and random steps. BTW 9 steps is the maximum you can score, so no need to walk on every tile everytime (it's funny tho but increases the chances of a desync).
If you do so, please share.
First with Isobe, always on hard, I was scoring around 6k on each try while she was scoring 7-8k, then unexpectedly she only scored 4k. Same with Ogita, after 20 tries or so, he scored very low and I was able to win.
So the thing is to keep trying until the AI decides to let you win.
