How to dash/run?

Some of the abilities in the game say that in order to use them I first need to dash. There is also a completion requirement that I dash a set distance outside of battles. I looked in the control options but could not find the button, so does anyone know how to dash?

Hold E on Keyboard, A on X360, X on Dualshock 4.

For ability that requires you to dash you just need to run a bit during battle before pressing the attack button. Hence you can't do it if you're locked on since you just walk while locked on.

so all this time i was traveling the city with normal run instead of Dashing? lmao
