Gamepad Reverse Buttons?
Can you reverse the buttons on a gamepad? I'm a keyboard+mouse player (not a real Yakuza) and that's working for most of the game. But the kaoroke is a ♥♥♥♥♥ on the keyboard, so I'm trying that with my controller. Problem is that the default buttons are nonsensically reversed. Maybe I'm just really old, but I have always played by SNES rules - Y and B are on the inside, X and A are on the outside. I cannot wrap my mind around this nonsense button configuration where I'm seeing Y and I'm expected to move my thumb to the right, towards the outside of the controller. That doesn't make any sense whatsoever. Can I remap things so X and A are outside and Y and B are inside?

I can't say for sure if this will work but try setting up your gamepad with Steam, and assign the buttons to flip Y with X, and B with A the way you want it to be. Then go inside the game and remap the buttons so that fast attack is left button, heavy attack is top, dodge is bottom and grab is right. This way the layout of the buttons is still the way the devs intended, but now the prompts should correspond with their SNES locations.

Okay, that sounds perfect. But how do I link my gamepad with Steam? Honestly, I almost never use the thing, I didn't even know that was an option. I just plugged it in while playing the first chapter and it was recognized, so I just went from there.

I think you can only configure it in big picture, but once you do it should work in normal steam too. Go to settings, then controller settings, and somewhere in there should be an option to map buttons.
