Deleting a save file
I accidentally created a second save file and I was wondering if there is a way to delete it. I can't figure out what the file path for the saves is or I would have tried that. Anyone know?

To be honest, if you only have 2 save files created, don't bother deleting it. You should be rotating saves anyways as a healthy practice of making sure you have a back-up in case you make a bad save or something goes wrong with the other save. I currently alternate between 4 saves, just picking a different slot every time I stop to save.

Otherwise just ignore it, not like it's going to kill you to see it there. You can overwrite it some other time when you start a new game or try something new out.

This is a really good point. I'm super happy I had multiple saves because I got the inventory food glitch and only lost like 5 minutes of progress instead of RIP my game.

After doing this, I am no longer able to select "Climax Battles" or "Replay" on the main menu. The options are now locked.

Same problem, can you tell me if finishing the the current chapter (the second in my case) will unlock the climax battles again or if i should restart the game?

After finishing the current chapter the climax battles will be reunlocked. I found that if I backed up the system.sys file as well the climax battles would still be enabled after following the steps. And it still only shows me as having one save slot.

The proper way to do it,

1. Open Steam and disable Steam Cloud.
2. Back up your save data file SaveData0000.sav (or 0001, 0002 or the one you want to keep) under Steam\userdata\YourUserID\638970
3. Then delete all files under that folder.
4. Run the game then close it.
5. Close Steam.
6. Delete the file remotecache.vdf under Steam\userdata\YourUserID\638970
7. Open Steam.
8. Place your back up save data files in Steam\userdata\YourUserID\638970\remote
*You might need to change your save data file name to SaveData0000*
9. Enable Steam Cloud.
10. Run the game and Steam Cloud sync conflict window will pop up.
11. Select UPLOAD TO THE STEAM CLOUD
12. Done.

Things to notice, disable your Steam Cloud from Steam Settings not the game properties.
There might be a better way to do it, I'm willing to learn. :squirtyay:

I know this is an old thread now but here's an important thing to remember:

*IF you want to retain your climax battles, replays, or "New game/New game+" option, also backup the system.sys file

Also if you somehow still see the old save files as "Unknown" you messed up when deleting the cache file. When you enable Steam Cloud and reupload the game data, make sure the remotecache.vdf has really been deleted and you're not uploading old cache into the cloud.

All my files are gone now...
I don't know what to do. Can anybody help me out here?

I had a save file in a new game+ After I followed the instructions, I don't see any save games in the game. I can't start a new game+ either, because the game can't access old saves. I am desperate.

EDIT: I still have all my data in a separate folder

I made this and now I can't create a new game + or play the other modes that unlocked after completing the game, maybe should i defeat the final boss again?

Ignoring that you necroed a old thread, of course if you delete all your save data you are not going to have a completed save to unlock NG+, you deleted the completed save.

Guys, I made a stupid thing and deleted system.sys file before fully reading this thread. Is there any way for me to return my progress and climax battles with premium adventure? I have an working safe with finished game on premium adventure, but the game doesn't care. Or should I start all over again?

Verify to re-download the files you accidently deleted. Depending you may be able to fix it by clicking the OLDER VERSION after it asks you should be okay. Not 100% though since you should have backed up the files beforehand but if you aren't too far in the process you can just restart it like that.

Thanks for your advice, but no luck here. The game goes on with not seeing my save file with completed game. Well, I have no other choice but to finish the game again and upload my save file after that.

So you have a copy of the save file and your game starts? I thought you said you copied and deleted the wrong files, my apologies. If that's the case if you have the save file and the game starts all you have to do is stick it in the folder so just follow the steps listed from the first step . All other files have nothing to do with the save file unless listed in those steps.

I did exactly like you said, the save file works just fine, I have all my progress kept. The thing is I lost access to climax battles and Premium Adventure battles, like the game thinks that I've just started it.

Hmm, well complete save file would have unlocked that stuff regardless, which is why people always ask for completed save files so I can only assume you copied a save that wasn't turned into a complete save yet. If that isn't the case and verify doesn't redownload the files you're missing you may need to redownload or like you said just finish the game again which should be like one mission hopefully.
