It would be really great to be able to rebind those controls (and show the correct prompts in game).
I've done so and now I'm a karaoke pro. Stupid Sega. jkli was a terrible decision, and even worse not letting players modify those settings WITHIN the keybind screen.

If you want, I am more than happy to show you my input.ini edits and to give you my modified .PAR file that includes the (very rough but perfectly usable) GUI updates.
Appreciate the update though, I'm certain it will help somebody out who is still stuck flailing through mini-games with IJKL. Cheers!
But anyway, you don't have to follow Chef Rude and use the cruddy GUI edits when you can just download the beta Patch 3 that changes the karaoke's controls to arrow keys that comes with the official GUI button prompts.
Well it should be able to be remap not going to say for sure it can be
I refuse to buy a controller for ONE game, and did not want to now down to a Dev with poor foresight.
I'll keep my shoddy graphical edits until the beta goes public, and that should replace my edits anyway.
In the meantime, I'm able to do mini games without being annoyed.
You do you, dude. No worries.
Yep the initial has controller and keyboard settings that you can edit using JavaScript key input designations (37-40, I think?)
Hey, I know it has been two years , but do you happen to have those modified files.
I'm stuck on disco dancing minigame and the game wont let me change from IJKL to arrow keys.
But i read about it in some other discussions that the devs have changed the bindings from IJKL to arrow keys in beta Patch 3 branch.
However, for the disco minigame it's still IJKL. :/
Theres also another modding tutorial on the steam communities foruma

You need to unpack the correct .par file, that took me a while to open each and find the right one. (likely want to edit all the minigame ones with the same idea)
Someone said the controller sprites are here
SteamLibrary\steamapps\common\Yakuza 0\media\data\2dpar\sprite_c.par
Use a photo editor or graphic program to replace the texture with whatever you want that makes sense.
Then repack the stuff and throw it back into the game. (backup the original is a good idea)
I dont remember how to edit the ini but thats a more common tutorial to find.
Hope that helps.
It isnt, it was the stupid IJKL keys. I modified the .ini to make it the arrows.
Location: SteamLibrary\steamapps\common\Yakuza 0\media\data\fontpar
Modified file: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1Vun07cm5qSD8U87zJh80DnB5hhgycvPw/view?usp=drive_link
Don't forget to create backup file just in case.
I also tried to change inputs for disco minigame to arrows but failed. Experimenting with input.ini didn't do anything. I learned that somehow in disco you can hit right with E and down with Q, but didn't find any clue inside input.ini why is it work like that. Guess they just hardcoded this mess of a minigame like that. Or inputs for it is placed somewhere else.
