'EHH? ARE?... MATTE!!'
'OI SOKO NO OMAE!!'
'ANO YAROU!'
etc etc...
He meant something more like, "How dare you pass by me without showing respect, do you know who I am?!"
Then during this conversation people start to flock around you and then a fight happens.
But that was annoying IMO. It was more of a limitation with either the hardware or the engine, and that's how they would load in the fights. Now it's more seamless, which I prefer.
In 3 you'd make a really wide berth to avoid these people standing in the middle of the road because at a certain point in the game they start just being really annoying because of how weak they are.

People in Kamurucho and Okinawa ought to have posters of Kiryu with a message that says "DO NOT MESS WITH"
You get the sillier dialog with the scripted battles. There's 'Victims' scattered around the map that are often being bullied, Kiryu steps in and you'll get much of the same dialog of "Don't you know who I am?!" and such.
It added flavor but it also added a metric crap ton of time before a battle would start and end, and that's bad for gameplay pacing. If you compare Yakuza games to JRPGs which use similar systems, it's still abysmally slow even in Yakuza 0 where that Dialog is not used to interupt the player.
Plus, they still yell silly stuff at you with voice overs and text boxes above their heads. They're not complex sentences but they're still saying silly, thuggish things without slowing down the game pacing.
So for instance, if 3 and 4 are remastered I wouldn't want them to remove it, but I can see why they would change it for future titles and I prefer the change from a gameplay standpoint.
3 and 4 are still too fresh to be remastered. But hey, they did it with Skyrim and Dark Souls, so let's wait. I remember they cut the hostess clubs from the western version of Yakuza 3, so there's that to add in a possible remaster.
