DS4 controller has square for cross and cross for circle

Im having this problem that will make it impossible for me to play the Karaoke minigame since every button mapped doesn't correspond to the one i actually need to press.
I closed DS4 and just ran the game without the program and i still have this problem.

I stand corrected then, might be a bug with the game. I didn't recognize my PS4 controller correctly until I checked the PS4 Controller support in the Steam Controller settings.

Don't use DS4 windows. It is outdated, steam registers PS4 controllers itself. Delete any driver related to DS4 windows and re-insert your controller.

Try it, delete the drivers and try playing non steam games. My DS4 also works for BF1 and Re:core. Don't underestimate the DS4, I can confirm it works with almost every game without DS4 windows. Even non steam games.

So, to fix it i had to format my PC to erase completely the DS4windows sadly because i use it for other games that work FINE with it, so yeah it's not like this game was ported with the DS4 controller in mind because it doesn't recognize it on the go until i enabled the options on Big Picture mode etc.
A great waste of time tho to fix it so if someone has this problem check if you really want to format your computer alltogether or not.

You do not need to format your PC to delete a driver, I'm just giving advice so you don't run into inconsistencies in the future. Just open your device manager and delete your controller related driver.

There was none that's the deal the only time i saw any driver related to controllers it was an XBox360 controller diver which i uninstalled and still couldn't fix the issue

Dude I build and fix computers for a living, no DS4Windows does not mess "way too much with your drivers", Ive been using it for about 4 years and worked on dozens of computers with it and ive seen zero of the issues you are talking about.

And no windows does not register a PS4 controller as any other than a directinput device, if a game supports that API then it'll work without issue, for anything else you need to emulate the Xinput API. If you really believed that is bad and messes with drivers then turn off the emulation in steam because it is exactly the same thing and works in the exact same way, just integrated into steam. If steam didnt force you to launch games through its client to get the controller emulation to work it would be perfect. But it doesnt, and it isn't so an alternative is needed.

I'm getting a similar problem with a Wired Switch Pro controller. Some of the face buttons are swapped and the right stick axis are switched (X axis moves the camera up and down and Y moves it side to side)

Anyone else having problems with the Switch controller?
