Anyone know how to use PS4 icons?
I'm using a PS3 controller with Xinput emulation; I'm familiar with Yakuza games and it's just weird to play Karaoke with Xbox Controls when I'm used to playing these games with PS3 controls.

It's something small but it's just something I wish I could change.

I use a PS4 controller. All I had to do was to plug it in as is (no external or other programs used) and the icons showed.

Yeah, if you use some emulation software like ds4windows, it registers it as an xbox controller and thus shows xbox symbols.

I know why it's showing Xbox Symbols; the question is; any idea how to swap it out? Don't need to reiterate something I already know

My PS4 controller flatout doesn't work on PC for some reason but a PS3 with Xinput has been fine; QTE events have been confusing.

I'm looking for a way to change the prompts as well. Just went through a karaoke-session and it was a mess. Hopefully it'll be modded soon, unless Sega comes up with a quick fix.

For my DS4 I had to unset all steam integration controller things, then unplug and replug it followed by enabling the playstation/ds4 steam integration. Then everything worked great.

It's honestly such a mess especially since the rest of the game I'm fine since I've played all the other Yakuza games but QTEs and Karaoke is just too confusing.

Same here, only I'm using an old dualshock 2 with x360ce (I always found emulating ds3 to be much too messy). I hit a roadblock at the karaoke just like you. Looked into the config files but there's nothing useful there.

I tried switching to keyboard for the karaoke, but it didn't feel as natural as it would have with the playstation prompts. It's true that it wouldn't be a problem with DS4, but I'm using DS3, which Steam can't recognize. Knowing that Yakuza had several QTEs, I was hoping that you could be able to change between the prompts in the game settings, but unfortunately so.

Whenever developers include the option to change prompts regardless; it always makes me happy to know; I'm using DS3 aswell; I have a DS4 but it doesn't work well on my PC and I kinda prefer the feel of the DS3 over the DS4.

Yes the icons showed but they were lying! X was NOT OK! Square was! How much effort does the industry put in to make sure controllser remain completely incompatible?!?!

Hopefully someone will be able to figure out how to force the Playstation icons on. I played Yakuza 3-5 on the PS3 and switching to Xbox icons is really throwing off my muscle memory in QTEs and Minigames.

I have read there may be a way to get a Dualshock 3 to work natively with Steam Big Picture Mode but I really do not want to disable ScpToolkit. I have had issues getting ScpToolkit to work in the past and now that it is working I would rather not disable it.

Don't bother, Steam recognizes my ds2 as ds3, but ironicaly it doesn't recognize my ds3 controller at all. Even then when playing Yakuza 0 my controller prompts remain xbox for some reason. ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥, couldn't they just let us choose which ones we want to use?

Yep, it's pretty much the same here. I have a DS4, but it feels too big and clunky and I don't like the feel of it at all. My thumbs hurt for days after sprinting around in MGSV for ages, so yeah, DS3 for Yakuza or none at all.

And true, I found a pretty complicated way to make it work as well, but I ain't gonna remove ScpToolkit. I won't be able to use my controller for anything other than Big Picture then. Hopefully it's a matter of time before it's fixed or modded. I've never played the Yakuza-series and I really want to get into the minigames.

Glad you're playing the series now; I had to stop playing them on PS3 since my version of 0 for PS3 is JP only; very hard to understand; the rest of them are amazing and I'll hope you'll fall in love with this series as quickly as I have

Hopefully a better method will come along eventually; I'll try my hand at it now.
