Freeze fix: auto detect Yakuza 0 in Battle Encoder Shirase
See Laivasse's detailed post for a better explaination!

See this topic for further information on Battle Encoder Shirase:

https://steamcommunity.com/app/638970/discussions/0/1743343017611184022/

Exit Steam before you adjust anything!

Look under C:\Steam\steamapps folder, open appmanifest_638970.acf, rename your install directory to Yakuza0 (no spaces) , the line is under "installdir".

If you dont do this, BES cannot detect the .exe file when you start it up.

Then, create a shortcut to BES, Then add this command line:

"C:\Programs\BES_1.7.7\BES.exe" C:\Steam\steamapps\common\Yakuza0\media\Yakuza0.exe 2 -a

Make sure you have the quotes in there!

If it is your first time running BES, set the sleep/awake function to 40 ms in the Control section of the program.

Now BES will auto-target Yakuza 0 when the game is running! No more switching windows!

I am not the best at making tutorials, so hopefully this makes sense!

For example, you need to point out that the shortcut should reflect the user's install paths for BES as well as Yakuza.

Furthermore, there is no need to change the install path for Yakuza - as long as you put the quotes around the Yakuza 0 path in the shortcut, rather than the BES install path! You seem to have it the other way around.

So for me, the shortcut target is precisely this:

D:\Armoury\bes_1.7.7\BES_1.7.7\BES.exe "C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Yakuza 0\media\Yakuza0.exe" 2 -a

...with no changes to the install path in the .acf.

The purpose of the quotes is in case your install path has spaces in it (which Yakuza 0's install path does, by default). It's a Windows syntax thing to make the shortcut work. But this means if your BES install path has a space, you may need quotes there too!

Still, very useful post and in combination with the general BES instructions in the other thread, this has helped me out a bunch :) (EDIT: here's the other thread with the BES instructions )

Thank you Laivasse, I was having trouble with the command line since i couldnt seem to get it to work with the default folder name for whatever reason, as I am not the best at troubleshooting.

I was just so desparate to find a way to just have it auto-start, as I was so tired of alt-tabbing, im glad for the input, I wish this could get stickied.
