outrun sucks
Trying to get that SEGA property so I own all properties but I gotta make 3 million in Outrun.

I'm a good gamer, but I'm garbage at driving games - never liked them. I've tried Outrun like 30 times and STILL can't make 3 million.

And I hate driving games. Is there a way I can cheat? It'd be useful to cheat in the other games I don't give a toss about like mahjong and bok choi and all the other ones where I.. yeah.. no. Not doing it. Just gimme the DARN acheivement.

1. Get Cheat Engine. Open it.
1. Launch game. Open Yakuza0.exe process in Cheat Engine.
2. Go to the SEGA HI-TECH LAND
3. Lauch Out Run
4. Once in-game copy paste this to address - libtgsa.dll+8FC25C
....edit the value to 1280 (it will be 5 million points)
5. Finish the game (get yourself killed) ....get your CP, befriend the manager, bust Electronics King

I know right?
I can understand if you trying to have a ride with the staff girl or beating against the Electronic King (even though it's not mandatory to take him down) but cheating over a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ achievement? Jeez, I argued against people who refused to buy any game if they don't contain achievements and now we have 'completionists' who is cheating over something unnecessary.
Might as well use a tool that unlocks all achievements at the same time then.

Seriously, there's objectively worse games (that are really unenjoyable) than this.
You're obviously right, but hey, I'm angry, I'm not gonna be objective.
I can see why you're angry and why you dislike the game though.
It's because of the strict time limit isn't it? Do you think it'd be much better if the time limit is more than a minute?

I normally don't cheat or use trainers, but I just have absolutely no desire to improve myself at Outrun and I've put in enough attempts and resarch. The tricks I saw were to go

right, left, right - this way has only objects on one side of the road, but its narrower

going left right right - the road is wider but there are objects on both sides of the road

Switch to hi gear around 150-180km prevents you from shifting hard and slowing down

Use low gear to go around tighter corners, and lay off the gas on some of those corners

The time limit is absolutely brutal. If I make a few mistakes in the beginning there's no way I can catch up and make it to the next checkpoint, I might as well quit right there. It seems like I've actually gotten worse over my attempts

Absolutely. I mean I got my 5 million a while ago, but because of the strict time limit I didn't enjoy a bit of it. I can't count the times I got through a level without crashing only to run out of time a second away from the checkpoint.

I don't really get cheating for achievements, kinda voids all your actual ones. I'd rather leave my game incomplete. One time someone was bragging to me about cheating for achievements...

You don't need to beat the electronics king to get 100% of his property, it will eventually get there by investing money into your properties. Outrun, like many early Sega games, was just a glorified tech demo where most of their investment went into securing the Ferrari logo and display it prominently in the game.

I got it legit after a lot of tries and a lot of frustration. I had 0 fun in it. As such, I encourage anyone to cheat at it and be done with it. Bottom line, if a minigame isn't fun and if said minigame gets in the way of an unlockable, by all means, skip it.
It's especially bad when a minigame is depend of luck as much as outrun is. It pretty much boils down to how traffic is on any given way.

I will completely admit in my eyes, I didn't get the required score out of my gamer skills, because they are overall relatively constant, but because on one attempt I got a good pattern of cars in my way which let me move between them in such a way I didn't even need to slow down for a long section, which had for consequence to let me hit the checkpoint.

The 2 seconds you may lose braking down just to wait for a wall of cars to thin is enough to put you in a dead man walking state. The time limit is that strict.
Codester Aug 16, 2018 @ 12:38pm
I don't like it either but it's easy AF. I have completely beaten it. My "low" scores are around 5-6 Million. Really really beyond easy mini game. It steers for you, not hard to slightly move left and right to dodge things or let go of the accelerator for .5 of a second to move around an incoming vehicle to move around it.
Vorshana Aug 16, 2018 @ 1:11pm
So when you start out, make sure you're in low gear till about 180mph.. then shift to high.. don't just hold the accelerator.. learn to break, learn to downshift on sharp turns or if you're going to crash into a rock or sign on the side of the road that makes you flip over. slowing turn is ALWAYS better than fliping over since you save more time that way. use the d-pad isntead of analog if you're using a controller, i find that it helps a little better. memorize the course, memorize the problem areas and anticipate it. It's one of those things were if driving isn't intuitive for you you just have to practice

Got anything similar for dancing?
Britt Aug 16, 2018 @ 2:51pm
I'm doing it for the CP, I beat the electronics king a while back. Yep, lost to him at Outrun but Yakuza 0 was kind enough to just penalize me by losing 10% of my shares instead of making me get past Outrun. Now at 100% Electronic King area and he's out there making me money :steamsad:

..not yet, but they are searching, pretty much all arcades are covered and things like money, hp etc

There is trainer also with max disco score option (just google if interested) but I do not recommend to install it because of malware risk.

People worry too much about losing to king. -10% shares is literally nothing. You can make that back in 10-15 minutes just collecting your payments and doing the regular stuff.
