Stuttering Problem Makes This Literally Unplayable
As the title states. There is no fix for it, I've tried literally everything everyone has ever tried. The game is AMAZING, if only it didn't have this absurd stuttering problem I could actually play it and enjoy it.

♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ fix this ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ ♥♥♥♥ already.

I suggest using the BES program but instead of -2% limitation to use -10%. Or whatever your device requires to function smoothly.

Ok, after basically beating the whole game with the constant freezing, I now really wanted to try the BES[mion.faireal.net] method and can confirm that -10% CPU usage and, in my case, 20 ms (default: 100 ms) delay work perfectly for me.

I didn't have a single freeze during the whole time I played today and noticed no input lag or anything.

(I used version 1.7.7.)

Thanks a lot!

try forcing vsync trough the nvidia control panel or the AMD equivalent of you're using that. I had massive stutter without vsync. put the game in high priority aswell in the task manager.

Already tried that.

if you are not happy with them not responding on here (they probably stopped checking comments on here), well, it seems someone found out who did this PC port, so you could try emailing them on here! (Email on bottom of page)

I might email them but it's unlikely to get an answer worth anything that isn't a robotic "thanks for your input, we don't care what you have to say".

Enable v-sync in game or force it through the driver.

Do you not know how to read?

Is that the thing where the game slows down and stutters at certain points on the map?

A sorta workaround that mostly worked for me was disconnecting my controller and then reconnecting it immediately as soon as the game started to stutter. This would pause the game and bring up the "controller disconnected* message (and the stuttering would stop). When unpaused the game would run normally... For a while

This game is in a weird state where folks with machines more powerful than mine have issues, but as someone in another topic said, "the issues are relatively rare and minor". All it needed was a smiley face at the end.

What kind of specs do you have, OP? I've tried playing this on a core 2 quad, and there was intermittent pausing that even 8GB (of DDR2) wouldn't stop it, so maybe you have an under specced CPU? Alternatively, the aforementioned guy with the stronger PC had 8gb of RAM while I have 12GB, so maybe the game has awful memory management issues.

The bad thing about PC gaming is that the end user usually has to fix the games themselves, either by relying on community patches or throwing money for better hardware; notions that have always encouraged lazy porting and always made consoles the first - and only - platform publishers care about.

I've got an i7 @3.5 GHz standard clocking, 16 GB RAM, and a GTX 1060 6GB, and the game is installed on an SSD.
Definitely sufficient specs for the game.

The problem appears to be the CPU usage suddenly spikes to 100% for about five seconds, completely locking up everything for that time. The game is doing something stupid that basically ♥♥♥♥♥ over the computer, no matter the specs.

what i7 model?
Uhhh if you're running the game with anything past x2 ssaa you're going to encounter low fps and stutters, might want to turn it down to 0 or x2 as with my gtx 1080ti it'll start to chug at x4 and above and before i installed it even x2 was pushing my 1060

put your card in Performance mode in the Nvidia settings...
also disabling Game Mode in Windows could help...

I will give you the solution to this problem, but it's up to you whether its worth the trouble.

Download a program called "BES" it's a cpu limiting software. Run in and then run yakuza. Minimize Yakuza and find it on the BES process list. Limit the cpu for Yakuza by -2% so it will max at 98% instead of 100%.

It fixed the stuttering for me, but it's a pain to do this EVERYTIME you run the game. Still fixes it.

This comment really helped me when the game started crashing at the beginning of one of the later chapters. Up until then it did crash sometimes, but this was a new behaviour. I turned off/lowered SSAA and no more crashing. Thank you!

I'm having the same problem and I tried everything too. Everything is great about the game otherwise
