Is This TRULY worth playing?
I've bought this game already. Bought it on sale at Chrono.gg. But I'm curious... Should I actually install this game? I've heard "it's amazing", "it's breathtaking", "it's crazy". But you hear that about a lot of games, get your hype built up just to be disappointed. Is it worth putting my time into?

You should probably ask these questions before buying any game. Now you already paid for it so not sure why it's such a problem to just install it and see for yourself.

For me it's the best series next to Metal Gear Solid. Will you like it? I dunno, Yakuza games are definitely not for everyone.

Just don't go into it expecting GTA. That's what killed a lot of the series momentum when the first one came out on PS2. Reviewers called it "Japanese GTA", which it most definitely is not.

I played my first ever Yakuza game not too long ago. It was Yakuza 0. I didn't know much about this series before, except having flashy combat and wacky side activities. I didn't think I would be interested in the story part, but I was wrong. I absolutely loved the entire experience. Bought Kiwami shortly after. (Not quite as good as 0, still great though). It's just a lot of fun. No GTA dimensions by any means, only focused on a small area, but a ton of stuff to do.

Metal Gear Solid may be a good comparison. While the games aren't very similar really...

They both have extremely lengthy cutscenes with a great story, and maybe have a similar balance of being a very serious and violent game that also have a lot of silly quirks and moments to break up the tone every now and then.

It's a brawler with light RPG mechanics. This game is closer to River City Ransom than it is GTA. Run around and beat up thugs, make cash, and then enjoy the city by visiting shops, eating at restaurants, and even checking out arcades and sports facilities like bowling.

So you're in for a Violent Crime Drama with a lot of Japanese Flair, and quite a lot of side content with sub stories and Slice of Life activies.
its worth buying but there's a chance the game just won't work properly for your pc like mine.. Even with beast specs. Sega doesn't know how to opt. games well.

That's a valid question. I purchased this game as a gift for at least 2 of my buddies.
Here is what most people forget to tell anyone about the game, IT IS ALL IN JAPANESE.
Now that did not bother me as the story is so good reading subtitles became a second nature and i still felt the heavy emotions the story can evoke. Great side quests and good humor it lives up to the hype for me but not for everyone.

I would of never guessed but some people find the language barrier off putting. Got two buddies that barely played an hour... hmph their loss really.

To ME this game is worth playing. One of my fav series ever for multiple reasons. And then I´ve only ever played two of them but I will def scop them up as they are released on pc as I´m everyday looking forward to playing a bit more Yakuza. it´s like a treat everyday to enjoy a few silly side quests and enjoy the crazy fight moves.

I enjoy it way more than GTA or other games compared.
One of my friends thinks the same he also loves the series.

For YOU, no idea as it totally depends on what you like.
I´m sure some people find the games boring or just plain hate them.

But if you bought it give it a chance. You might love it as much as I do.
If not just delete and play something else.

But go into it with an open mind and take it for what it is.
Nothing is ever the same as the hype you can put in your own head.

That´s my 50 cents worth of thoughts anyway

(edit. someone mentioned it being in japanese..well the game is about yakuza and heavily features and revolves around japanese culture and cultural quirks and very japanese things. I wouldn´t play this game with english audio even if there where tbh. And I don´t even understand japanese )

I just started to play this yesterday and I'm having a blast. It is cutscene-heavy but it has alot of charm. This is the first time I do recommend a controller for an Action game, though. Fighting sometimes feels kind of awkward with a keyboard and mouse when locking on, stepping, blocking, evading and grabbing in succession, for instance.
But then again, maybe I'm just getting old.
