Little confusion about Kuze, Shibusawa and Awano (spoilers)

Im near the end of the game (just defeated Kuze after he tortured Tachibana), but I'm a bit confused about the three main baddies/bros
Its obvious that Shibusawa is more in command now, but why? Why is Kuze in trouble and has to follow every order of Shibusawa so much? Where the hell is Awano? It seems like he just disappeared from the story. Does all that get explained later on?
I took some breaks from playing the game here and there, so I dont remember every detail of the story. No spoilers pls!

It's easy to forget about this, but it was mentioned that Awano's speciality is extortion, that has already failed, and his other skill just didn't give him much of an opportunity apparently.

I guess Shibusawa is the smartest of the three and just seized the opportunity to get in charge of the whole operation because Kuze already failed so much?

That's basically what happened. By this point, Kuze screwed up enough to be forced to the other two, from what I understand.

the correct version is very spoiling. Kuze expell kiryu without oyabun approval and beaten to his ass by kiryu resulted in demotion from acting captain, Awano promoted to acting captain and the story goes on shibusawa gained the empty lot then promoted to acting captain, that mean awano demoted, awano and kuze were Dojima-gumi lieutenant and become shibusawa lackeys (as he was the acting captain). Why the acting captain role start from kuze to awano to shibusawa? Seniority rules (senpai-kohai) the eldest chosen to become acting captain (dojima-gumi still old fashioned yakuza that holds the gokudo creed tight)
