In some games, it would reset and register as player 2, usually unplugging and replugging the controller was enough to fix it, if not, I usually had to update the PC and it'd be fixed.
But for this game, not only would the PC straight up crash when I exited the game, but there were no controller drivers that needed updating or whatever.
Yakuza 0 doesn't have an option for rumble for me to disable, so I either fixed it or I was just ♥♥♥♥♥♥.
Turns out the USB port I was using at the front of the computer tower was set up poorly somehow, everything was fixed when I started using a USB port in the back and rumble was functional again, I haven't had a disconnect since.
TL;DR: I'm not sure if you're having the exact same issue I was, where it's related to the rumble, but if you are, try using a different USB port for the controller.
Please let me know if this works because if even just one other person's controller is fixed with this then the months of rumble disconnects and the minutes of device manager shenanigans were worth it.
