What's with the Yakuza Online hype?

Yakuza Online is an mobile only game card game that is apparently coming to the West soon, and it kinda looks like crap.

The Yakuza series is well known for it's gameplay...but this seems kinda low effort. This just to me looks like another mobile game out there. I don't understand the hype, at first I thought it was going to be some console only MMO or something, but when it was announced for mobile I kinda steered away faster then a MK5 racecar. It just does not look like something that belongs in the series and I really don't understand why everyone is excited for it. Mabye it's the Manga art style? The gameplay? It being an online mobile game that will probably be region locked on release? I have no clue-

These type of mobile games are popular in japan. It was already released about a year ago and its doing pretty well. No reason to worry though since its not coming west and was probably never meant to.

Apparently there is info about it coming July 10th and they are considering a port.

Might be some crossed wires here, the July 10th announcement Sato was hyping up is about the next console game which has the same protagonist as the online game & is part of the Shin (new) RgG Project alongside it.

Destructoid is reporting (source unclear) that Sega's recently announced Hokuto no Ken mobage is getting a Western localised release at some point. We might get RyûOn too, I'd only be bothered if they divert the localisation team for the main games to work on it & thereby delay the Western launch for the next mainline title.
