Yes, please! There are enough dead bodies and remains of animals around, perhaps we can hack those up for samples?
There are no animals to hunt in Pestilencia - seems a perfect place to have non-aggressive mutants/dead bodies spawning for farming mutant DNA, taking out the spawner could act as intended and stop further spawns. Don't know if it's possible but maybe make it a special spawner only appearing in peaceful mode. Another suggestion would be to make mutant DNA purchasable from the guy in Cultsberg, maybe they could need fruit crates to buy to make it not too easy and to extend the requirements for items from settlements lol.
I'm aware this is a slightly late response, but if you're still searching for an alternative, possibly you could gather them from hidden underground areas, find them in the medbay, find them laying around in abandoned houses, collect them from bodies, and possibly craft them with some kind of plant.
Another idea I have would probably require lots of additional coding, but I'll put it here for at least consideration or editing as needed.
During Peaceful Mode, it could be a different time, a time after the mutants had died down, and now most of the plague was gone from the island. Mutants had died, but the plague still faintly existed on the island, causing the animals to still suffer. After this was realized, you were sent to establish a animal santuary to breed, cure, and quarantine the animals still alive. Slowly, you could repopulate the island, and have the ability to clean up trash, plant trees, plants, etc. and rebuild the island to it's former clean and natural state. Since a lot of items aren't available in Peaceful Mode, it could be possible that you were sent with lots of different items that had been collected and stored from when the mutants still roamed freely around the island. (Basically all the useful items not available in peaceful mode) but also still having the ability to find them kept in chests, safes, stored in medbays, and found laying by destroyed monster nests. Like mentioned above, you could possibly be able to craft them.
That's mostly all of my idea, as mentioned above, I suppose it would take a lot of additional coding/scripting, but it would add a lot more possibilities and storyline for Peaceful Mode. This could even serve as something to edit or use for ideas.
