Xbox Controller doesnt work

Hi!
I just downloaded the game and chose " XBox Controller" in the settings. But it seems like that a Xbox Controller doesnt work - I mean I literally can't do anything with my controller so I need to use the Keyboard and Mouse ( switched to keyboard and mouse gameplay ) . Despite this switch the ingame stuff is still shown in form of Xbox commands, which are of no use if I can't use it.
Can anybody help me please?

Even if it did work the game has an issue with any Controller where it doesn't register the left D-pad, which is where some skills will be set to so you're better off with Mouse & Keyboard.
- If you are devoted to getting the Controller working you might also want to check how steam is having the Xbox controller interact with the Game.
-- You Can check that by Right clicking the Game title In your Collection > Select Properties > Select Controller > Make sure it's set to Default Settings.
-- If it's set to "Disable Steam Input" Steam won't let your Controller interact with the Game.

I just uninstalled due to the poor controller support myself, the "d' key on my own Keyboard requires wiggling for 1-2 seconds once pressed so switching over to mouse & keyboard at this point wouln't help.

When I used a permanently wired controller I never got any problems with the game besides a none responsive Touch Screen if I do not use an actual PS4 controller with its USB cable plugged into the PC which isn't ideal as there will be chances where you pull on it and the USB unplugs from the ps4 controller.

I own an XboxOne pad and also had the same problem, but the solution written in this post helped me. Since I changed the "Force Off" it's already working normally for me on all sides on the D-pad.

In controller settings, I tried experimenting with it for a bit but soon after the game I did not have any problems at all keeps pressing down no matter what I do. is there a way to return the settings back to their default?

this game provides its own controller hooks and sometimes they conflict with the ones provided by steam. try disabling the steam controllers. and it should fix many controller issues.

The only problem is when I tinkered on it the curser keeps going down then I'm not pressing any button.

that might be either a failing membrane or a failing stick. you can use a site like https://gamepad-tester.com/ to test how buttons are firing.
if a button feels extra squishy then its DEF a failign membrane. if a your having stick drift then its a failing thumb stick potenometor.
membranes are easily replaced for mainstream controllers (liek official playstation, xbox, nintendo, and a few third party controllers too (8bitdo does sell membranes and buttons for the pro series of controllers).
membrane replacement is a few screws, pop out the torn one, place the new one, and button it up.
but you have stick drift then that means its a bad thumbstick that does require soldering.
if you dont know how to solder, give a few video game system repair shops calls and ask if they do thumbstick replacements on site if they say yes and they have the parts on hand then you have found a gem.

soldering is a GREAT skill to have even if its just to repair your own things.

No controllers work. It's just a problem with the way the game was ported over to steam. You can't play with a controller since you can't switch during combat using D-pad down, with a controller. I refunded the game just a minute ago because of this. I still have it on PS4, just gonna play it there.

Also has problems detecting touch screens. No problem for me if I used a wired controller though.

i also had issues with controllers not working.
so i dug into it and its because it wants to use its own controller driver, and that conflicts with steams controller driver. basicly the controller is assigned to steam controller, but this game is looking for a controller hooked to its own driver. try disabling steam controllers for games, and as long as the controlelr is a x input controller and has no other issues, it will work.

So disabling the steam controller let me use the touch screen? Seems that I can manually map the touch screen in the Xbox controller button mapping as did that to the mini-map button via a hold or one button plus another with me having the minimap set to the touch screen when charging and plugging my ps4 controller to L2+Circle button.
