Can't create more fishpips

I'm wondering if I'm doing something wrong. I received one fishpip from an event and am now 140 days later, still with only one fishpip. If I try making a baby in a Driftwood Refuge, the making a baby action is crossed out, even if two pips (including the one fishpip) are available.

Do I need a second fishpip and if so, am I just unlucky the second one isn't spawning?

You can use the "Make a Fishpip" action in a standard Dwelling to add a second FIshpip by using one Fishpip and one Pipfolk, as the Driftwood Refuge allows only two Fishpips to procreate.

(however, I might change that, as to avoid this confusion!)

Is there a way to guarantee that you will be using a fishpip and a normal pip when you do the procrreate action?

Oh, I see it now, "make a fishpip" is a different action than normal procreate.
