Crashing at the "sea monster"?
This is my first time playing the game and I've crashed twice now just after the "sea monster" eats the "rug fish" in the first underwater level.

Yeah same here. Just immediately closes once i enter the hallway. Nothing I've tried fixes it.

I don't know how but I was able to get past it eventually.

Did you change any graphic settings or change anything on your computer to affect the outcome?

I found a way to avoid this crash

I can't promise that this will work for you as well, but it worked for me. Additionally, this is still just a temporary fix, until something is done on the development side of things.

I walked through the area a few times to see if it was the exact same spot every time. I found that if I rush by the Guardian, and enter the hallway, I end up getting farther before it crashes. I think the crash is linked to the Guardian despawning from that area. On the other hand, when I stand in the sand just before where the Guardian sits, wait about 10 seconds after the Guardian has fully despawned, then walk forward and proceed through the hallway; it doesn't end up crashing my game.

So, just to outline the steps a little more clearly:

Step 1: Stand in front of the Guardian and watch the animation of its attack.

Step 2: Wait 10-15 seconds without moving after the animation to ensure that the Guardian has despawned and the animation is over.

Step 3: Proceed forward into the hallway.

(Note: if you still get a crash in the hallway, try to focus your camera behind you and walk into the hallway without looking ahead, as it may have something to do with a new area loading in.)

I'll try this out in a bit

Lemme know if it worked for you. I want to hear if some other people get the same result.

So this time I stood there trying to wait at least 15 seconds, but it seems when the guardian despawned, that's what crashed my game, because that's what happened after a few seconds.

If you're ok with trying one more thing, can you try to look away from the animation once your camera is free and continue through the hallway while still looking away after waiting for a despawn for about 15 seconds?

On it.

Nope, now it just crashes right after the guardian flies off regardless of where i look.

I just got past it somehow. This time I passed the guardian on the right instead of the left and I tried to get past it as quick as possible, which didn't work and it knocked me out, however I was able to get up and it didn't crash. Just to be sure I walked through the hallway backwards on the right side (if you're facing the hallway) and i made it through.

Very interesting. I hope they find what's causing this. I think the conditions are extremely specific to allow for us to go through, and might be a case to case basis. Also really weird that this isn't an issue that everyone is having.

Thanks for trying anyway!

Pretty sure I didn't change anything.

I'm fairly certain the first two times I crashed I was looking behind me (watching my partner) and the time I DIDN'T crash I was looking ahead.
