What about single-player?
What I keep seeing about this game over and over is people gushing about the co-op experience.
But I was thinking about picking up this game on sale to play on Steam Deck, and I usually use my Deck in places where I don't have Internet access. Would I be doing myself a disservice to play the game this way, or do you think it's still worthwhiel?

Playing solo is a peaceful, contemplative experience (for the most part). If you feel that you would enjoy what is essentially a walking simulator with breathtaking environments and plenty of exploration, and a real sense of achievement at the end, then go for it. If you play unaccompanied, it means that you can travel at your own pace, without worrying about anyone else or what they might be doing. So yes, it's a different experience, but not necessarily a lesser one. :TravelerWalking:

All I can say is that playing alone or with a companion is two different experiences. I would recommend playing both ways. I think it’s quite possible to enjoy this game offline, but at the same time one of the main ideas of this game is lost - traveling together is more fun and interesting. But it also depends on what kind of companion. Unfortunately, not all people are patient enough with each other.

Played it on Deck without the connection, and it was wonderfull.

Played it co-op later when connected - and it was also amazing, but in a slightly different way.

Would definitely recommend both.
