Silent, lonely journey

I tried something different today. I went through the game as silent as possible, chirping only on rare occasions. I wanted to enjoy the soundtrack and the ambient sounds while I wandered around the levels for a long time.

Coincidentally, I met no companions for most of the game. The one and only that joined me appeared right as we entered the Tower, the joyful Tyalientur.

This left me wondering. Is there any game mechanic that leaves you alone if you stay silent?

hey! if you like silent journeys, the monthly silent sunday might be something for you!
theoretically its about making players enter the game (level broken bridge) at the same time, to randomly meet another player that also wants a silent journey!!

to make sure, you l lget a silent companion, you could also arrange a journey at any time.
next silent sunday is on 29.05.

i only managed once to have a silent journey and it was outstanding good, magic, different ... loved it.

Oh, this may explain why was my first run a quiet, desolate and lonely journey (loved it) - at least up until Tower. If there's something I'd want to experience again, it's the moment I realized it's not single player. Not reading up on it at all paid off right there :) Replayability on a new level.
