However, the more times you finish the game, the more elaborate the gold "embroidery" on the bottom of your robe gets.
P.S. Did I say I love this game?
There isn't a temple for the bridge area since it's right after the chapter select. To actually start a new game from the very beginning, I think you have to select that option.
One (in the center) has a 'gate' to take you to the bridge area. On your second time through, the other temples have 'open' portals that let you step directly into other chapters. Since these temples are not really labeled, it was a bit confusing to me which is how I ended up skipping 'The Bridge' by accident.
But it seems the game doesn't really let you do that; once something is opened it stays opened. Instead of going forwards at the start, I went to the right, found a temple and a circle of light, and soon I was in the snow area. I thought, "that doesn't seem right. Isn't that near the end? And I haven't any scarf yet."
So I re-started, and followed the 'obvious' path, only to find that all the zones were unlocked. This doesn't make much sense to me.
I understand that if you choose to keep your progress and play through individual chapters again for game completion/achievements etc. then this should happen.
But is there no way to completely reset the game and enjoy it all from the beginning? Trying to work out manually which order to do everything in is pretty much impossible for me as it's been long enough that I've completely forgotten what's what. Being guided through the game in a more linear fashion is exactly what I want so that I know I've not missed anything. I don't mind at all about completely losing any progress from the initial run.
Any ideas? (What it really needs, I feel, is multiple 'saves'.)
The temples dotted around the platform, which cover all other areas from the Pink Desert onwards, are only to be used if you particularly enjoy a chapter and wish to replay it, or if you want to play for an achievement, or collect a missed symbol. Ignore those temples otherwise!!
"The more I play the game, the more I find bits and pieces I haven't seen before and I'm amazed I can find something new every time I start a new journey"
quote from the journey discord. (not me, but i played since years and know that i still know many things..)
That simple, huh? :) I thought that's what I'd tried yesterday, but obviously not (or I didn't realise quite what I'd done).
Anyhow; many thanks. Journey V2.0 is now underway.
(I may go for the achievements some day; but I doubt it. It's really not what I play this sort of game for.)
most people like a long scarf, so they will fly to all the symbols anyway.. :)
and yes: the north/mountain is were the end of the level lies (every, snow just has a weird path).
and dont worry, you wouldnt be the first having trouble to get that "chapter select"thing. i heard several people had half journey, without even realising. just wondering why the game is finished quicker :D
