This is just factually incorrect. I'm obviously not going to post it here because it's porn, but even a basic amount of research will show you that hentai is drawn and animated to be explicit, and there's a vast amount of examples of the same ones both with and without the mosaics.

Perhaps there are a few of them that release censored and uncensored materials of the same hentai, but really these are one of the very few exceptions. Uncensored sexual material is simply not culturally accepted in Japan, I think it's even formally illegal. Either that or someone else (not the author) did an uncensor job by modifying the original and drawing something new.

So the vast majority has only one version, a censored one and no uncensored exists. In this case there's absolutely no reason to put any effort or detail. Just like they did no effort "behind the hearts" in this game, it's the same thing.

So anyway, my point is, bringing in exceptions here doesn't change the fact that hentai almost always is censored from the very beginning, with absolutely no intention to ever show the genitalia. So these genitalia don't have any detail and are about is real as their depiction in the Sims. As I said, it's the same as this game, there's no difference.

Due to JP law, genitals can not be shown in either pornography production, or even in hentai. They are censored via mosaics or whatever in post production.

For a while, the only way to get them uncensored (at least for Hentai) was hope a US company to license it and release it because we don't censor stuff like that in the US. The companies usually get the uncensored master to use in production here. However, laws do change and I don't think its possible for hentai to be licensed much anymore because the Japanese Government wants to put a hammer down on reverse importation. (that's why you see a lot of sites like Right Stuf, and others who won't ship to Japan for anime)

But gaming is another beast. I don't know what its like these days, but I'm beginning to notice at least in some cases, anime are becoming censored even on the master copies for DVD/BD production, and games, well, that just really depends actually. Too much crap I don't feel like getting into right now.

I didn't say it was self censored, I said it was censored to be sold as a mainstream game targeted at children, developed and released in a market with strict rules against porn. I also never said it was hentai, I'm asking what's the difference between censorship in this game and censorship in hentai.

There is no censorship. You never said that it was censored to be sold how it was. This is the game they meant to make. They never intended to make anything more erotic than this.

Can this topic die already. This game is not censored. Even if you find a way to remove the hearts, there is nothing underneath to begin with so you are left with a flat surface if you remove the hearts.

If it was censored, then removing the hearts would mean there is something underneath to see.

There are mods currently to remove those hearts but yeah...nothing to see underneath. Someone would need to make an additional mod that would add something they drew themselves underneath but at that point it isn't uncensoring anything, it is just modding game files to whatever picture you want.
