Support CH/IFI, pick this up. Maybe we'll get more Genkai Tokki!
I'm a big CH/IFI fan, but I've especially had my heart set of Genkai Tokki: Seven Pirates since the day it was announced. Everything about that game appeals to me. I was disheartened about ever getting an English Vita release. However, now that this is happening on Steam, I have hope again! Even if you already have Moe Chronicle on Vita, I hope you pick this up too, just to show they can sell well here!

If you haven't heard of the fourth title in this series, check it out http://www.play-asia.com/genkai-tokki-seven-pirates/13/709wwb

It's a free-moving JRPG akin to the Nep series.

I won't get this mainly because they said they wouldn't release a game on Steam they couldn't on console yet here we are. TBF I did import the asia english version. I guess I'll wait and see what the future holds. If we get the next game on vita and PC i'll get both. If only PC I won't bother

Will do.
I wanna see Moero Crystal, Seven Pirates, Castle Panzers, and Gun Gun Pixies all get brought over.

They also said that they won't bring over games they feel they have to censor though. And since Monster Monpiece, the previous Genkai Tokki game, was censored on the Vita and not on PC and this isn't censored on PC....
Well, I think the reason they're avoiding a Western Vita release is because of ESRB.

That fine too. I think we got this game because it's already translated. I don't know if it's worth translating a PC only release of a game that will be nearing it's 3rd though the vita is also dead pretty by next year

Castle Panzers is coming to the PS4 so I'd rather hold out with that than deal with the Vita games at this point

Yea, I have my fingers crossed about Castle Panzers as well. Of course, I'd like too see Crystal and Gun Gun Pixies too. If Castle Panzers were ported to PC it would not run on my piece of **** hardware. I'd need a Ps4 localization. With recent SK games and PQube bringing Gal Gun uncensored, I don't think IFI should worry about anything.

Either that or just go the English-Asian route. I honestly prefer that, since I care not about dubs and also prefer console. Though I'll take uncensored PC ports over nothing ANY day.
I would like to see Crystal come to the West at least, mainly because we wre promised an Asian English Vita release that was never delivered by Sony. That said, I'm hoping Sony translate Castle Panzers for an English Asian release seeing as it's a PS4 title.

It is likely that all the games in the Genkai series would have to be censored if they came west on consoles. So I'm okay with IFI skipping over the Vita/PS4 versions of these games. They are entitled to change their business practises/stances over time as the market changes, especially with how successful Steam has been for them over the past couple of years.

Did you seriously just register to Steam to complain about that? Do you see people come to complain on the PSN forums about games being PS4 only?

I'd love to see the other titles showing up here, but I don't think IF has any precedent of localizing games specifically for Steam. All of their titles are just console ports that were already localized back in their initial release on those platforms, including Moero Chronicle.

Considering how PS4 keeps getting more of these types of games, my hope lies on Castle Panzers getting an English Asian version just so they can port it to Steam too.

Exactly! Thank you for linking this article. But yes, that is precisely the point of my thread. Support this and maybe we'll see more ^^

Okay, this gets me a bit optimistic.
I'll reserve my hype for when the first step is actually taken.

how does the ESRB even matter remotely? other than for example the USK of Germany, the ESRB is not embedded in US law making them essentially not more than recommendations.

They don't need to be. The M rating already does a number in sales, that's why some games like Neptunia try to be tame in order not to bump the rating just because of a couple of scenes or costumes. Meanwhile, many stores won't even bother stocking up AO titles.

well, retail stores dont have any games published by IFI (FFF ADF anything Neptunia Related after PP, and so on) here in germany (at least I havent seen any) the only places where I have seen them are online stores like amazon, or of course digitally, aside from importing them from iffy's online store in GB.

let me tell ou my take on this the rating board in the us is very srtict when it comes to anime type games for some odd reason but the reason for the relase of moero chronical on pc is avoide the rating system i am happy to have it in the west at all stop the winning about they wont do it on the ps vita we are lucky we get it at all yes it is sad we cant get a ps vita realse but mabye we can get the others on pc if they sell well

Correct me if i am wrong, but i do think that Sony (and Microsoft,Nintendo) demands a rating if any game is to be published on their systems.

Its like "Nintendo's Seal of Approval" thing from the SNES era. If they dont have the "OK" from Sony, then they cant use any of the PS features.

Which is suicide, more so than Steam, at least here it really doesnt matter if the game has steamworks features or not.
