The start class, the rebel, is the base difficulty of the game, you can have it easier by unlocking new classes like the medic or snip, because you start with additional chips and new weapons. But there also is a different class, the lunatic. Youn unlock it by completing the game. The lunatic makes the game a lot more difficult by making the enemies a lot stronger. If the game gets too easy for you, then the lunatic is the right thing for you.
