How to disable coop?
I'm playing with an Xbox One controller and I pressed every button and I think even every possible button combination and I couldn't prevent the second character from being controlled by the keyboard. That's a problem since the screen won't move without her moving. How do I disable this?

Make sure you dont have a midi device or other USB device that may emulate a joystick including software just in case...

The game will not ask you if the 2nd and/or 3rd characters want to join, this comes from the Original SNES when it was a feature of a plug and play of a king back in the 90's... so just unplug other USB devices like a flight joystick if you have one... :balloonicorn:

On the SNES, I could just press either SELECT or START to enable/disable a player, I remember this because I just recently played it through with two friends on the SNES. And, honestly, if they can't even implement such a basic feature, not even with a patch after the game has been out that long, it makes me not want to play it anymore. Unplugging all my devices for one game is too big of a hassle. Do they at least have a tech support to write an angry mail to?

I don't know if they do have an angry mail... but your not the 1st I have seen with this Co-Op issue, the fix was to unplug other USB devices that may act like a game controller; that includes MIDI devices...

Hopes this helps you... :balloonicorn::SoM_Neko:

That's a problem since my audio interface has midi ports. I could only play it without sound then :/ Thanks for your help dude.

Oh No.... You must have a unique setup interface.... Not too many gamers use MIDI sound cards and/or devices.... you can always try one of those USB sound cards on Amazon and give it a try; they're not that expensive....

keep gaming... :balloonicorn::SoM_Neko::fourstarball:

I think I've resolved this for my setup. Issue appears to have been my Steam client detecting both a generic controller as well as my Xbox One controller.

To resolve, I used Big Picture > Library > select game > Manage game > Steam input > Controller options > set the Steam input to forced on.

Edit: my intent wasn't to specifically disable co-op, but was to prevent a second "phantom" controller from forcing two-players and/or making two characters move at the same time.
