So im not sure where to level..
so i might have screwed myself..I got to the upper lands and i cant seem to kill the enemies their and the boss when you get to sprite village kills me in one shot. Every character is level 12. I thought i could go back to the fortress south of pandora but since i beat the boss the enemies are not there anymore

am i screwed or is there a good place to level?

Its better to just farm in the upper lands, if you cleared the mog village just keep using the shop for healing items and use your magic extensively if the mobs are that tough for you.

hm i might have looked to fast but i didnt see any shops in the village. Unless i have to kill the boss first in sprite village

I literally just got to this point in the game and needed a few levels myself. Your only option is to grind levels in the upperlands and use items and magic to heal yourself. There is no other way to heal other than by gaining a level.

I did the boss and destroyed it easily at level 16 with level 2 magic.

If your going to be farming for a few levels you will or should make more GP then you spend on healing items and walnuts. Once you have a few levels and start progressing you will accrue even more and you wont really get any armor upgrades until Matango.

I would suggest taking your time and clearing all mobs from a map before transitioning, if you use your spells as you go you will generally level up and have few mana issues. The game is relatively easy if you take your time but getting impatient and running through even one map can have consequences.

Remember acid storm may not do alot of damage but can significanty amp your physical attacks.

Forest of seasons is an ideal grind spot, imo.
Take your time a bit and go through it and level your magic and characters. This game did always require grind. And this version still does, not as much, but you can not go about without grinding, i saw a streamer try and hitting a wall at the second last area in the game.

Also the prices of armor get more and more expensive and you get gold from grinding.
And on that note you should look at your evasion stats if you buy armor, its very important, seems like this version does put even emphasis on stats now. A little spoiler form aforementioned stream. Magic and weapon levels are way more important now. He did a test with magic at around level 5 and afterwards cheated it to level 7 before he couldn't beat bosses and afterwards did it in a few seconds. So yeah, that is also grinding for you.

A little tip, if you did not already get the idea yourself, RB and LB can be used to shortcut a spell for both defensive and offensive and it skips all of the menue stuff as well, which makes it faster than ever. And you also get mp back from level ups now. As i recall the snes version did not have that and made grinding more of a pain.

My advice is to rush through the whole forest of seasons and grind wolves in ice country. The wolves are very easy to kill and you aren't getting constantly ballooned or other annoying status ailments. That's what I did personally. Plus the wolves give you better money and there's decent armor upgrades to buy in ice country.

But isn't there very few monsters in the ice country?
Saw others mention that too, but i never did that myself.

There's a whole area full of easy to kill monsters right out of the village. Give it a looksy, it's quite a nice spot for easy exp.
You'll need to grind a bit to level up. Also, I recommend increasing the max item capacity to store more healing items like chocolate, royal jam, and walnuts.

He sounds like a bad gamer to be honest, there is very little difficulty in this game even without grinding.

Levelling weapons is a weird one... you could kill a monster in the last dungeon and get 10 weapon level exp or kill a lvl 1 Rabite and still get 10 weapon level exp. I usually level my weapons in Gaia's Navel Tunnels and run back and forth through there. As for magic.. find the lowest costing INN like in Gaia's Navel and spam primm's magic there.. rest and repeat. Unfotunately for Popoi you'll need many monsters for his magic so making quick work of low level monsters work best.. Gaia's Navel Tunnels once again.. you'll be humming that tune in your sleep hahahahaha. P.S. have magics set to shortcuts for faster levelling also.
