Secret of Evermore was also made by Square, but it was the american branch of the company that did it with the intention to make a "western" RPG that differs from the whole japanese ones.
Yet, it's probably more likely that Terranigma will get a remake than SoE
What I'd almost hesitate to say is Soul Blazer. I absolutely love the hell out of that and Illusion of Gaia, but SB's "restore the world" aspect was extremely neat to me. I don't really want to see the gameplay changed, honestly, but having it redone like this I could get behind.
I still think there's plenty of flaws in this remake, but I can get behind the core idea. Although perhaps not at $40. Not unless the voice work is better and the balancing is good, and the bugs and glitches get polished more before release. I don't like being a beta tester.
I prefered SoE to SoM to be honest. I always like "time travel"-like game (even if it's not really time travel in SoE).
When you fight the big lake snake boss ... and you save here ...
but you can't go back and you are dying so much now ...
And you just have to erase your file to began from the start. :'(
But i liked this game!
