Kind of. You can increase the item limit in the options, totally breaking the game's balance. It's at four as in the original by default.

There are rare exceptions, like the creator of Rollercoaster Tycoon was OBSESSED with thwarting cheaters. That didn't stop them of course, but it took more than modifying a couple values directly in RAM.

Cheats is only for players which don´t know how to play or simply to bad at it.

Yes, Cheat Engine. I'm working on a trainer right now for those who just want to fly through the story. However, to do so yourself is very easy. You open CE, point to SoM process, type in the value of whatever you are meaning to change, scan, go to game and change that value however you can, go back to CE and type in new value and press "Next Scan" and do so until it narrows the addresses down. Then you right click and add, and then change the value.
