Anyone tried making mods yet?
I looked into the game files, and it seems like a lot of the information may be moddable. It seems to be using the Phyre Engine - and there are many tools out there used to decode those types of files - and it seems like the FFX port uses it also??
I see .dds textures and .dae models in there, but I have no Python or Noesis knowledge and have no idea how to unpack and repack the files - and wanted to know if there was anyone out there looking into it? I'm a 3d and texture artist, and would -love- to do at least a character and/or costume mod.

for reference, in this thread a guy has posted extraction and decryption of a dialogue file. not 100% sure where that file is or how the decryption works.

I hope there's a way to translate it in italian, even if i have to translate every single line of dialogue. I'm pretty good in english, but i would become a national hero doing something like this!

Well I didnt dig into it but with that it looks like you could edit the binary file with an hexadecimal editor to put in a translation.

there's a translation for the original so you'd just have to use that i guess but how to translate it i dunno

hmm the whole process requires you decrypt the file, it's a XOR cypher and the key is provided in the forum post, so far nothing too scary you can use a program like CrypTool (though i had trouble with accentuated characters on that software, maybe it's a matter of settings), load the file, provide the key, done

then you can edit the text as you want, the part that may requires some technical knowledge is the "Format Specification .bin by Zolodei.txt" from the forum post, it's in russian but google translation provided the following:

the hexadecimal numbers like 0x0 are adresses to a location in the file, hexadecimal editors show the data as a double entry table with such adresses (like in the screenshots on the forum post), HxD for example is an hexadecimal editor that allows you to read binary files like that, CrypTool also displays it

along the text is stored some information the game needs to read the file properly, you'd have to adjust for modifications, i tried to see what goes where and why but im not quite sure

maybe ask on the original forum post where someone did the work, im only trying to infer from that (plus on his screenshots the text looks cleaner that what i get, i dont know what he's using, that may be custom software though)

the final step would be to encrypt back the file, same method same key

I would love to see a mod, which increases the difficulty of this game. Right now, it´s a cakewalk even without level grinding, especially the Bosses are way to weak/ passive.
i've been playing the game and played both versions the enemys are the same on the mantis ant i die 3 time with remake and same for the orignal
