never ever ever. and im not exagerating. never ever have i seen a game soooooooo expensive when the original allready looks better then this garbage here. 40 freaking sticks for a game that is better on android and ios and on emulator for a dime or less. we get to pay for a game that looks significantly wors then the original 40!

the emulator even makes the game hd on 4hq options. what are these people thinking. do they think we are square enix we can do this/ who is the mongo that pre ordered this? please tell me who these mongo's are so that we can put them on the pillary and throw green hard tomatoe's in their face?

this friggin remake is made by the same engine as the flopped adventure of mana which is priced at 14.99. and even that price is still to high for such a grindfest and horrible optimzation of adventures of mana.

square enix is onto a bad name like electronic arts. if it wasnt for fifa ea would be long gone.
oh yeah guess what we are still waiting for that proper legacy of kain continuation. but u decided to go nosgoth with micro transactions. it served your right when u found out nobody was buyin the micro thing

dont get me started on mankind divided. pls give the ip's back to the original owners that had heart for story telling and quality

There are people(vanillaware atlus) who put effort in sprites. Dragon crown. Odin sphere and muramasa. And there are lazy boners who use the easy polygonic environment that doesnt give the same artistic mechanics. Weve seen megaman into mighty 09. And hopefully. Iga originally wanted to make bloodstained with sprites and is making the same mistake using the polygonic method.

And this is even more abysmal.
Dragon quest 11 coming out. And they come with a bizarre remake of 40!!!

i'd love it if they'd just realize they don't have the talent for this anymore, and hired vanillaware to remake SoM for them. instead they're recycling graphics & assets from a free-to-play phone game & charging $40 for it.

this is the gaming equivalent of a yard sale. one of those yard sales where you can tell the dude doesn't actually want to sell his stuff, since he priced it waaaaaay higher than it's worth.

precisely. the engine was also used for adventures of mana which is 15 euro and flopped badly cause reviewers were astounded by how horrible the game is. now dont get me wrong there are exceptions(link between worldà but that is a new game and that is a freakin awesome game.

yeah they should hire vanillaware. i hope sega gives those guys more projects. id like to have dragon crown on steam. its a golden axe like game online. man that mermaid LOL

I'am even surprised that there is not some Vanillaware games on Steam actually.


3D is a good choice when it is perfectly mastered and we can't really know how a game like "Bloodstained Ritual of the Night" will be once every textures, shaders, lightning en ambience effects will be definitively chosed.

I seems also that the best solution is 2.5D in the incoming products. Gorgeous 2D art more detailled and 3D effects and depth. (at least for side scroller games.)

$40 for what boils down to mobile remake with a reused engine, recycled assets and an unoriginal story (they don't even have to think about anything they just have to redo).
That's why people have a problem, but not only that the "graphical upgrade" doesn't look good either, especially if you consider many of the bosses have spherical assets like Spring Break, Dragons and Hydra.

Actually, how do you know it's a reused engine and assets? The story apart, they still need to make the entire game in 3D, which means reproducing every maps of the game in 3D.
